With its woodlands, rivers and swamps, The Caprivi Strip is unlike any other part of Namibia and is
usually a complete surprise for the first time visitor!
The Caprivi Strip almost doesn’t feel like the rest of Namibia. Devoid of desert, this is a wetland
wonder crisscrossed by several rivers. The Caprivi feels more like the Okavango Delta or Chobe
National Park than Nambia and it is the only place in Namibia that you can see Hippopotamus and Nile
Crocodile..
Described as Namibia's answer to the Okavango Delta, Caprivi is a game-rich area. More than 400 bird
species inhabit the area, which contains three game reserves. Other attractions include the Popa
Falls (more a series of rapids than a waterfall, but still a remarkable sight) and Katima Mulilo,
the pleasant capital of the region.
