Welcome to North Cape
Norh Cape is home to the longest natural rock reef on the continent.
During low tide you are able to walk out almost 800 meters exploring
tide pools and may even see some seals and many seabirds.The community
of North Cape is located at Prince Edward Island’s most northwestly
point of land. Kids can enjoy the aquarium and be taken away by
the excitement of marine life. The Wind Energy Institute of Canada
features advanced windmill technology at work creating electricity
for Islanders and information for wind energy development, you can
learn all about it at the Wind Energy Interpretive Centre. The Black
Marsh Nature Trail takes you to the west side of the cape and during
susnset hours you do not want to miss out on such a beautiful view.
During the 1970s energy crisis the federal government established
a wind power test and research site at North Cape on account of
it being one of the most consistently windy locations in Canada.
