Road to Guinjata beach

Holiday resorts in the Guinjata Bay area all require a 4x4 to get there. In most cases transfers can be arranged from Inhambane to Guinjata Bay for fly-in visitors to Mozambique or for those self-drive visitors to Guinjata who do not have a 4x4.

Guinjata Bay is by Jangamo beach just a short distance from Inhambane. There are four smaller bays and beaches making up the Guinjata Bay area:- Guinjata Bay itself is the largest of the bays; Jangamo beach is situated in Guinjata Bay and is where most of the lodges are built; Paindane beach is on the north side of Guinjata Bay with just two lodges along this stretch of beach making for quieter beaches and holidays; and Coconut Bay which has just two lodges situated a couple of kilometres apart with access to their own areas of beach for those looking to really get away from it all.

Access to all these areas is by 4 wheel drive only as the road down to the Guinjata Bay lodges on Jangamo beach, Coconut Bay and Paindane beach is a sandy track with some patches of soft sand down towards the lodges.

Jangamo Beach is a great example of a Mozambique beach with the sparkling Guinjata bay offering excellent water activities and Pandaine Beach and the Coconut Bay having small shallow rock pools which are great for kids to play in.
