The Brandberg Mountain, located in Damaraland in the Erongo Region, is the highest mountain in Namibia. This unique mountain rises up to 2,573m above sea level from the surrounding flat gravel plains of the Namib.
The core area of about 450 square kilometres was declared a National Monument in 1951 and, on a clear day, can be seen from a great distance.
The White Lady is one of the most famous rock art paintings to be seen in the extensive gallery of historic rock art on display in the Brandberg Mountain.
