Hobas Camping Site

Fish River Lodge

The Grand View Lodge is situated in the
Southern Area at the Western Entrance of the Fish River Canyon.
Accommodation is available in Economy-, Standard- and Deluxe
Chalets as well as Camping Sites. The Chalets have en-suite

The area encompassing Mariental, Keetmanskoop, Ai –Ais, Karasburg
and Grunau is predominantly sheep and ostrich farming and private game
ranches and farms.
The Fish River Canyon hiking trail is unique among trails in Africa.
The trail itself, follows 90kms of this amazing wonder of nature, from
the view site at Hobas to finish at the hot water spa resort of Ai-Ais.
The Fish River Canyon has become a popular hiking destination. However,
hikes require good physical health and should only be undertaken during
the cooler winter months (between May and September). A permit from Namibia
Wildlife Resorts in Windhoek must be obtained. The hike is 86 km in length
and takes about 5 days.
Fish River Canyon Lodge Much easier hikes, no less beautiful, are offered
in the bordering private "Canyon Nature Park". The adjacent
and also private "Gondwana Canyon Park" offers scenic hikes.
They also have excellent accommodation.
