Uukwaluudhi Safari Lodge is situated in a core wildlife area with reintroduced high-value game species ranging from black rhino, black-faced impala, kudu, duiker, hartebeest, eland, plains zebra, giraffe, springbok, and elephant.

Instead of walls around the main area, the large thatch roof rests on sturdy timber pillars that allow for the open veranda-like atmosphere that accentuates the impressive panoramic vista from the hill it is built on.

The view from the top of this outpost stretches across dense combretum or “Leadwood” and terminalia trees to the foot of the hill where the view continues across flats of semi-savannah and dry flood plains, occasionally dotted by grazing antelope and plains zebra.

The tranquillity of the surrounding bush blends in perfectly with the ambience at dinner or while lingering around the bar in the company of other safari enthusiasts sharing their stories and travel experiences through Africa.

Accommodation at Uukwaluudhi Safari Lodge

Accommodation consists of 8 well-appointed Meru-style tented units, all en-suite with a view over the Uukwaluudhi plains.

All tents have an adjacent brick and stone bathroom with a shower, flush toilets, and basin.

The essential amenities are also included. Breakfast and dinner are included, and lunch is optional and can be ordered from the à la carte menu and enjoyed on your private veranda.

The tents are mosquito-proof and repellent spray is provided. Power is supplied by solar energy, which is strong enough to charge laptops, but not for the use of hairdryers.

Laundry facilities are provided on request and at an extra cost.

Activities

The lodge offers early morning sunrise game drives, rhino tracking on foot, guided hikes, afternoon sundowner game drives, and half and full-day mountain biking.

Once you have completed your daily activities, come and cool off and relax in our crisply clean swimming pool.

Road Directions to Uukwaluudhi Safari Lodge

From Kamanjab, drive on the C35 north for 186km until you reach the turnoff to the right-hand side on the MR122/C41 Road to Litananga.

This road also leads to Omakange and Oshakati. Once you have turned right on the MR122/C41, continue for 6km until you reach a signboard for Omakange on your left; don’t turn off.

Continue for another 10km until you see a signboard on your right indicating Uukwaluudhi Safari Lodge.

Follow the gravel road for another 7km until you reach the gate of Uukwaluudhi Reserve.

The gate is manned by a security guard who will give directions to the lodge.
