AfriCat North (previously Afri-Leo)- is a registered, Namibian-based, non-profit organisation, dedicated to the conservation and protection of the wild lion in Namibia (Panthera leo). The programme includes a short visit to the Environmental Education Centre, where our guests are introduced to the works of the AFRI-LEO FOUNDATION: insight into the farmer-predator conflict issues along the boundary of the Etosha National Park, the research and monitoring programmes and an over-view of the Lion Sanctuary - Leo Namibia , where rescued lions, now have their home.

This MORNING activity is approximately 2 – 3 hrs in length, including lion viewing from the safety of a hide, and returning to the Lodge for a late breakfast.

Kavita Lion Lodge accommodates 16 guests in spacious, well-appointed en-suite bedrooms, each with a view either of the garden or the indigenous bushveld. Five recently completed thatched chalets overlooking a waterhole, offer our guests comfort as well as privacy.

Meals are served outdoors under a thatched ’Lapa’ and the evening is greeted with a well-deserved ‘sundowner’ around an enchanting fire.

An ideal base from which to venture into Damaraland and Kaokoland, pre-arranged day trips to Himba settlements, overnight excursions to the Epupa Falls (Kunene River) and the Etosha National Park as well as tailor-made Eco-Ethno Safaris through northern Namibia, can be arranged.

For your comfort, we offer spacious, en-suite bedrooms and thatched chalets, a sparkling swimming pool and delicious farm-style meals served outdoors, with the sights and sounds of Africa close-by.

Guided activities include open-vehicle game and nature drives, bush walks, birding trails and an introduction to the Afri-Leo Foundation, dedicated to the protection and conservation of the Namibian lion (Panthera leo) namibia leo. Where is Kavita Lodge?
Kavita Lion Lodge is located approximately 40 km north of Kamanjab, in north-western Namibia. Travelling north for approx. 36 kms on the C 35, a well-maintained gravel road stretching towards Ruacana, you will find the Kavita Lion Lodge signboard; turn right onto a narrow farm road and follow the 'paw-prints' for another 5 kms, before arriving at the lodge.
