Kuzikus Wildlife Reserve

Mariental - Namibia

KUZIKUS (whitethorn) is one of Namibia’s wildlife farms selected by the government to preserve and protect extremely endangered species.

Having obtained a special permission to renaturalise elephants and black rhinos, we offer you a good opportunity to see these rare animals in the wild.
In order to curb poaching, the world’s most gifted trackers, the Bushmen, regularly track these animals which are highly sought-after by poachers.
Close tracking has recently proven to be one of the most efficient ways of supervision and surveillance. In close cooperation with environmental protection efforts we endeavour to preserve aspects of unspoilt Africa.

The main attraction are over 3000 heads of more than 20 different larger animal species such as eland, kudu, oryx, hartebeest, brindled gnu, black wildebeest, blesbock, springbok, steenbok, duiker, impala, zebra, ostrich and giraffe. Undisturbed by cattle and sheep they roam in liberty and find water at natural waterholes. The game sanctuary KUZIKUS is also home to many rare species such as pangolins, aardvarks, nesting eagle and an impressive array of other birds.
We are particularly devoted to the black rhino which is threatened by extinction.

Very sharp left bend), now take a right to the D1423 and travel another 15km until you come to a sign post KUZIKUS, follow sign posts. A small farm road will lead you to KUZIKUS after about 15km.
The total distance to KUZIKUS from Windhoek City and the international airport about 180km and a 150km, respectively.
