Welcome to Tofo Scuba!
Tofo Scuba is Mozambique’s longest operating dive charter, John
and Nikki pioneered diving on Tofo’s pristine reefs.
Our dive centre employs a staff of 4 qualified and experienced DOT skippers,
7 full time PADI instructors, an IANTD instructor, as well as a divemaster
and divemaster trainees, which are on hand to assist divers throughout
the year.
We have four new 8.3 metre semi-rigid superducks powered by twin 90 suzuki
four stroke motors, a nitrox membrane for up to a 40% mix on all dives
and our training pool is solar heated.
We are an extremely professional, friendly and customer-orientated shop,
our staff are all well-versed in assisting divers and our team is knowledgeable,
positive and energetic.
We offer a very good dive service!
Over and above our diving, we run daily snorkelling trips for non-divers,
to see and snorkel with the incredible, curious and huge whalesharks.
Our “ocean safari” boats often encounter other sea life such
as manta rays, turtles and dolphins.
Over and above this, we also have a fully stocked bar and restaurant on
site, with a good variety of cuisine on offer.
We run the transfers when necessary between Tofo Scuba and your accommodation.
Tofo is one of the best diving destinations in the world
and the diving is spectacular, with a huge variety and abundance of sea
life, from the amazingly graceful manta rays and huge and curious whalesharks
for which Tofo is famous to a myriad of benthic, macro reef life as well
as pelagic sea life. We have sixteen reefs which we dive on a regular
basis, and once you have dived here and experienced the magic of Tofo,
and the beauty of Mozambique I am sure you will leave here with indelible
memories of your time spent.
We do not believe in taking short cuts, hence our impeccable safety record,
and we do not run a discount operation. We continually strive to improve
the quality of our service and are firm believers in continued education.

Quality equipment
Tofo Scuba has 40 full sets of Scuba Pro and Sherwood equipment which
is for student use and casual dive hire. All our equipment is meticulously
maintained and cared for. We have 5mm Scuba Pro full wetsuits (winter
24 degrees) as well as 3mm shorties (summer 28 degrees). We have 40 cylinders,
both steel and aluminium. Our dive boats are 4x 8.2m semi-rigid dive boats
with new type solid nose. The boats are powered by 2x85 horse-power Yamaha
motors and are fitted out with all the necessary safety equipment as specified
by South African Department of Transport (DoT) which includes radios,
GPS, sonar, foot straps and medical oxygen. Our cylinder filling station
has 2x200 liter air banks and 250 liter per minute Bauer compressors.
Nitrox filters are fitted in the form of tower filters in addition to
the standard triplex filters. All nitrox fills are done using medical
oxygen and the continuous blending system by qualified IANTD blenders.
Padi Courses
Tofo Scuba offers PADI courses from pre-entry level up to instructor.
We also offer PADI and IANTD nitrox courses and dives.
All our confined water training is conducted in our on site training pool,
which better prepares you for your open water training. Our groups are
kept small to ensure individual attention and safety are kept to the highest
of standards.
Discover Scuba Diving: 1 day course made up of a pool
session and a shallow dive.
PADI Scuba Diver: Minimum 2 days. 3 theory session, 3
pool sessions, 2 sea dives to a maximum depth of 12m. Upon completion
a certification card will be received.
PADI Open water: Minimum 4 days, 5 theory sessions, 5
pool sessions, 4 sea dives. Certification card is received upon completion
allowed to dive to a maximum depth of 18m. PADI advanced open
water: Minimum 3 days, made up of 5 adventure dives. The 2 core
dives are “deep” and “Navigation”. The remaining
3 dives are your choice, we recommend one of the following: Drift, Peak
performance buoyancy, Fish identification, Multilevel and computer, underwater
Naturalist, Boat dive, Night dive( when conditions allow)

Far Reef Charge
