Situated on the banks of the warm Indian Oction Quilalea makes for the
perfect holiday. With the island totally uninhabited it almost seems forgotten
laying nested in the corner island of Mozambique's Quirimbas Archipelago.
Making this the perfect place to scuba dive.
For beginners a reef just off the beach provides sheltered diving and
snorkeling, as for the more advanced divers there is the big wall of Montepuez
channel to explore.
For the more experienced divers and adventurous type, exploring the Saint
Lazzaus Bank is a must as it has been recognized as the best unexplored
diving in the world.
The water temperature been a comfortable 28 degrees celsius and visibility
up to 30 meters you will no doubt find a whole array of coral reef species
typical of the Indian Ocean. Some of which include, yellow fin tuna, dogtooth
tuna and marlin. Manta rays, eight species of shark, whale sharks, huge
schools of barracuda, king fish, red snappers green and hawksbill turtles
can also be seen.
Be sure not to miss the humpbacked whales in season.
