Benguerra Island Bazanto Mozambique
The Benguerra Lodge lies along the historical Mozambican
channel and is the second largest island in the Bazaruto Archipelago
and famous for well kept beaches, excellent fishing and remarkable
dive sites.
It is approximately 11kms by 5kms, and the forest,
savannah and wetland eco-systems sustain a diverse population of
fauna and flora on this idyllic island getaway, which was declared
a National Park in 1971.
The main lodge building comprising reception offices, lounge, dining
room and patio area is flanked by eleven comfortable thatched chalets.
On the large patio, guests can enjoy a cocktail and sit back after
the day's events.
Accommodation
The lodge has different types of accommodation - the Cabana,
the Casitas and the Villas.

The Cabanas
Located at the edge of the beach the cabanas are romantic and elegant
with suites offering guests the chance to experience the ultimate island
getaway. The cabanas are equipped with queen-sized bed with mosquito nets,
large bathroom with bath, shower and outdoor shower, an overhead fan,
private deck with jacuzzi / plunge pool and sun loungers, a mini-bar and
tea / coffee making facilities.
The Casitas
A home away from home, where the eco conscious traveler can relax and
enjoy the spacious and luxurious comforts to be found in this African
Island Paradise. The Casita embraces Benguerra’s unique blend of
safari chic and Arabic style and are equipped with queen size beds with
mosquito nets, lounge area, outdoor dining gazebo for starlit dinners
and 100m2 of private timber deck with plunge pool.
Villa Chibuene
The villa is the epitome of exclusivity with luxury furnishings
and private facilities that make it an ideal place for those wanting unsurpassed
comfort and privacy. The villa is equipped with 2 double bedrooms with
mosquito nets, en-suite bathrooms with stylish copper baths and outdoor
shower with intricate mosaic inlays. the queen bed can be converted into
twin beds. The Villa is facilitated with a personal chef, private wooden
deck and swimming pool, an intimate lounge and dining area. Guests have
direct access to the beach.
Activities
- Diving : There is a fully equipped dive school
with a Dive Master and there are numerous reefs to explore with the chance
to see a wide range of game fish, reef fish and corals in pristine condition.
- Sail and Dhow cruises: Guests can sail peacefully in
the traditional Dhow with its triangular sail.
- Snorkeling: There is safe Snorkeling on the inside
of the reef with a huge variety of jewel like fish and extraordinarily
shaped corals are breathtakingly beautiful.
- Fishing: Saltwater fly fishing is one of the fastest
growing sports in the world. There are 2 boats, each with a guide, especially
designed to accommodate 2 fly fishermen. Bring your own tackle for one
of the most exciting fishing experiences available.
- Sunbathing and Picnics: Enjoy in seclusion and experience
vast expanses of inhabitant Benguerra where there is a choice of different
