Physical Address of Drotskys Cabins:
Drotsky’s is situated 10km South of the Village of Shakawe, on the North-Western panhandle of the Okavango Delta, 25km from the Namibian border, and can be reached in a normal sedan vehicle with 2-wheel. For guests that prefer to fly in, return transfers can be arranged between Shakawe Airstrip and the lodge. Guests staying at Xaro Lodge, will travel downriver by boat to reach the peace and quiet of the more remote tented camp.
Reaching Drotsky’s by road: All roads to the lodge are tarred, except the last 2km, which is a good dirt road, accessible to 2-wheel drive vehicles.
From Maun: Travel on the A3 in a South Westerly direction (towards Ghanzi) for approximately 98km before turning? right in a Northern direction onto the A35 towards the village of Shakawe. Continue for 272km on the A35 and the turnoff to Drotsky’s is on the right hand side, 10km before the village of Shakawe.
From Ghanzi: Travel 189km north east on the A3, before turning left in a Northern direction onto the A35 towards? the village of Shakawe. Continue for 272km on the A35 and the turnoff to Drotsky’s is on the right hand side, 10km before the village of Shakawe.
From Rundu, Namibia: Travel approximately 192km on the C48 towards Katima Mulilo, before turning right in a southernly direction onto the A35. After 20km you will reach the entry gate to the Mahungu Game Reserve.
If you intend to drive straight through, please register your details in the “Transit” book and continue 12km to the Mohembo border post between Namibia and Botswana. Alternatively, pay the minimal entrance fee and enjoy a game drive on the meandering dirt road along the Okavango River, before reaching the Mohembo border post. From the border post, continue 3,5km to the village of Shakawe, turn right onto the A35 and the entrance to Drotsky’s is on the left hand side
From Katima Mulilo, Namibia: Travel 312km in a Westerly direction on the C48 towards Rundu, before turning left? in a southernly direction onto the A35. After 20km you will reach the entry gate to the Mahungu Game Reserve (add link to game reserve here).
