Welcome to Waimea Gardene Cottage

Nestled in the foothills of the Kohala Mountains by a seasonal stream, Waimea Gardens bed and breakfast on the Big Island of Hawaii offers two separate vacation cottages and a studio, each with private bath, wood floors, full kitchen or kitchenette stocked with breakfast provisions, WiFi and all the amenities and service one would expect to find at a luxury hotel.

Accommodation

Each cottage, as well as the garden studio, has a well-equipped kitchen or kitchenette, private bath, hardwood floors, wainscoting, French doors opening to a private patio with barbecue, television, DVD and CD player, movie and audio library, phone, hair dryer, bath essentials, beach chairs and towels and picnic coolers. Kitchens are stocked daily with provisions for self-serve breakfasts, including fresh eggs from our quiet flock of resident hens.

Waimea Gardens: Garden Studio

The Garden Studio was added in 2001 and continues to win praise among newlyweds as a perfect honeymoon hideaway. Attached to the main residence, this comfortable, cozy nest has its own entrance through an enclosed courtyard lush with ferns. In addition to all the usual amenitites enjoyed at Waimea Gardens, the studio has a king-size bed. A large 'rain-head' shower with glass door opens to a small private outside deck.

The Waimea cottage, built in 1992, has a wood-burning fireplace, kitchenette (small refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster and electric skillet), dining or sitting area, queen bed in a cozy alcove and full bath with tub or shower and double sinks as well as all other bath amenitites. French doors open to a private brick patio with teak rockers.

Waimea Gardens: Kohala Cottage

In the beginning this cottage was built by the Campbells in 1982 as a honeymoon retreat for their daughter. The historic entrance room, where the homesteaders baked their bread, dates back to the late 1800's and has been lovingly preserved in remembrance of the property's early Hawaiian residents. The cottage addition has a fully-equipped kitchen, dining area and queen bed with Tempur-Pedic mattress.
