Hakuna Matata Beach Lodge & Spa

Hakuna Matata Beach Lodge is set on the grounds of the Chunini Palace.
Sultan Barghash built this palace at the end of the 19th century.
In a very good condition you can still find aqueduct ,
the connected cisterns, the bath and the minaret.
So Hakuna Matata, a very unique resort with a"Touch of History“came up
hard to find elsewhere.

Hakuna Matata is operated by the german owners Fritz and Rose

The size of the resort is about 1,5 ha. Included is a private bay
with 150 meter white clean sandy beach
Big mango trees give you a shady place on a hot and sunny day.
Various tropical fruit like papaya, banana, guava, breadfruit, coconut,
almond ,orange, lime are growing in our paradise.

Besides all the history we have an Internet Café and WLAN
to connect your Laptop.

Our reception cares for you 24/7.

In the unique Day Spa in the old ruins you may refresh body
and soul.
Imagine a setting on the shore of the Indian Ocean combined with
the experience of a professional therapist. Let your senses flow
while you catch up the smell of aromatic spice oils. A relaxing
aroma massage will make your body feel younger than ever.

Hakuna Matata offers space for 33 guests in 12 bungalows.
Our bungalows are located on an area of 1,5 ha and provide plenty
of privacy.

All bungalows have a living room with a queen or king size bed and
a spacious bathroom with toilet and shower.
AC, ceiling fan, hot and cold water, mosquito net, shower gel, hair dryer,
towels, beach towels and mats are includes in all rooms.
The big terrace gives you a spectacular view to the Indian Ocean.

The superior bungalows are more spacious than the others . They have a
separate toilet, more space and comfort in the bathroom and an additional bed.

The honeymoon suite with terrace over the Indian Ocean and an
additional outside bath offers absolute privacy.

Our new executive bungalows offer a lot of space - bathroom with toilet and shower,
bedroom , 35 qm livingroom and the terrace with an exceptional view to the ocean.
The living room has 2 additional couch beds.

It´s our pleasure to serve you your Sundowner on your private terrace.

Our bungalows all have names of villages once visited by the famous
persons David Livingstone and Bernhard Grzimek.

In our restaurant and a lounge above the Indian Ocean
we offer a first class international and national cuisine. Our speciality is
seafood and any kinds of fresh fish from the ocean

Once a week, we serve fish, chicken and beef fillet fresh
from our smoking oven. It´s something really different - taste it.

An excellent selection of South African wines will enhance
your dinner. We import them directly from South Africa by plane.
