The riverine forest and indigenous bush surrounding the farm, the proximity to Hazyview and the Kruger National Park and the occasional sighting of hippos makes Laughing Waters Guest House feel slightly "wild", but still very civilised!

Accommodation

The House & Garden
This guest house accommodation is situated in a lush green garden with views over sub-tropical orchards. There are many tall trees which attract an abundance of birds for the bird lover. Private short walking trails meander along the Sabie River running through the farm for guests’ enjoyment with abundant bird life and occasional sighting of hippos and crocodiles, fish eagles can be heard calling - the true call of Africa.

Laughing Waters Guest House has a large pool for the guests’ enjoyment.

Public Rooms & Verandah

A hearty farm breakfast is served on the large verandah. There is an honesty bar where guests can have access to drinks whilst relaxing beside the swimming pool or sitting on the verandah.

In addition to the outside living area we have a spacious guest lounge which is perfect for a quiet evening reading or checking the various reference books after a day out visiting the various attractions. The lounge offers DSTV and domestic television channels. On cooler evenings a wood fire is lit and makes the lounge the heart of the Laughing Waters Guest House.

Bedrooms

The bedrooms are all large with en suite bathrooms. Laughing Waters Guest House offers hotel amenities which includes ceiling fans, a tea & coffee station, comfortable chairs and built in cupboards.

Kingfisher (Room 1)

This large room is furnished with a king size bed, twin beds can be provided if preferred on request. There is a dressing table and 2 wingback chairs. Kingfisher has an additional day bed that be used by an additional family member. The dressing room leads to the en-suite bathroom which has a bath as well as a spacious shower. The room has a view of the main garden and opens on to a balcony overlooking the pool.

Wood Owl (Room 2)

Wood Owl opens on to the balcony overlooking the main garden and pool. Wood Owl is furnished with two three quarter beds and comfortable easy chairs. The large en-suite bathroom is light and airy, it has a bath with a separate shower.

Sunbird (Room 3)

Sunbird offers a king size bed and comfortable easy chairs. The en-suite bathroom offers a bath and a separate walk in shower. Sunbird opens onto the balcony to views of the garden and pool.

Robin (Room 4)

Robin is furnished with two three quarter beds and two comfortable chairs. The bay window in the room overlooks the lush terraced garden at the back of the house. The en-suite bathroom has a shower/bath combination.

Guinea Fowl (Room 6)

Guinea fowl is furnished with two three quarter beds and two chairs. This spacious airy room overlooks the side garden with its fever trees just across the lawn. The large en-suite bathroom has a separate shower.

Payment information

Terms and Conditions

A deposit of 25% of the total accommodation booking is required to confirm all direct reservations.
Upon receipt of a deposit, Laughing Waters Guest House will confirm the reservation in writing/email.
A reservation will be assumed to have been cancelled if the deposit or payment as required is not received by the due dates.
Where payment has been made into our bank account by cash, refunds will only be made a minimum of 10 days after date of deposit.
Should any reservation be cancelled, a cancellation fee will apply as follows:
25% cancellation fee if cancelled 28 days and less prior to arrival
50% cancellation fee if cancelled 21 days and less prior to arrival
75% cancellation fee if cancelled 14 days and less prior to arrival
100% cancellation fee if cancelled 7 days and less prior to arrival or no show.
On receipt of a written instruction to cancel the reservation, including bank details, Laughing Waters Guest House will refund the applicable amount. Laughing Waters Guest house levies a 7% administration fee on any refunds processed

Laughing Waters Guest House is situated on Linvale Estates, a citrus farm in the Sabie River Valley.
Entrance to Linvale Estates which leads to the Guest House is from the R536 Sabie Road, 5.6km from Hazyview.

GETTING THERE
Direct Route:
From Johannesburg or Pretoria take the N4 to Nelspruit, then take the R40 via White River to Hazyview. At the T-Junction at Hazyview turn left and drive through the town. At the 3 way stop at Perry’s Bridge Trading Post turn left on to the R536 Sabie Road. Laughing Waters Guest House entrance through Linvale Estates is 5.6km along the road on the right.

Scenic Route:
From Johannesburg and Pretoria take the N4 towards Nelspruit. Take the R540 to Dullstroom and Lydenburg, then take the R37 to Sabie. From Sabie take the R536 towards Hazyview. Laughing Waters Guest House entrance through Linvale Estates is about 36km from Sabie on the left.

Once at Linvale Estates:
Drive through the gates and follow the farm road through the orchards and over the river. Follow the road, and then turn left at the junction, the guest house is signposted. The unpaved road from the gate to the guest house is 1.6km, and is well maintained.
