Kwelanga Country Retreat is situated on the coastal highland near George, providing sweeping views across the Indian Ocean .
Possessing one of the grandest vistas in the region, the visibility stretches many kilometers, from the beaches of Wilderness, clear to the lighthouse of Mossel Bay.

Situated only 10km outside George, Kwelanga Country Retreat is the ideal base from which to explore the attractions of the Garden Route with your family.
It offers a restful and spacious accommodation to overnight travelers who prefer an idyllic country environment.

Kwelanga Country Retreat Accommodation

Accommodation offered consists of two types of freestanding log cabins, all with its own private deck and sea-view. The inviting atmosphere of each cabin is an invitation to each guest to enjoy their stay just one day longer.
All our cabins are fully air-conditioned.

Kwelanga Country Retreat also offers a large on-site restaurant, cozy bar, full-sized swimming pool and a jungle gym for the children. There is also a modern air-conditioned conference room with overhead data projector and other facilities
Kwelanga Country Estate offers two types of freestanding luxury log cabins.

Single Bedroom Cabins
The single chalets consists out of a double bed with en-suit bathroom, a bar fridge and coffee / tea station and TV.
Maximum: 2pax

Family cabins
The larger cabins cater for couples with children or travelling groups. These consist of a double bed in the master bedroom, two single beds in the second bedroom, bathroom with shower, kitchenette and a separate lounge area, with a sleeping couch and TV.
Maximum : 4 - 5 PAX
All our chalets at Kwelanga Country Retreat has their own private deck, with a stunning sea-view, are fully air-conditioned, supplied with all linen and towels, and are serviced on a daily basis.

Kwelanga Country Retreat Facilities

Not many restaurants along the garden route enjoy such a captivating view as Ove's Restaurant at Kwelanga.
Just a stone’s throw from the cabins, the restaurant has a large open deck area which overlooks the same bay region where Bartholomew Dias made his cautious landing in 1488.

On the deck, some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world can often be seen. Guests can enjoy sitting next do a crackling bonfire and sipping sundowners before dinner.
The restaurant easily caters for tour groups, functions, conferences, wedding ceremonies and receptions.

Our resident chef offers a frequently changing menu of tastefully-prepared cuisine.
From our extensive wine list, you can compliment your meal, by choosing some of the best wines the Cape region has to offer.
Rarely is it possible to combine effective modern conference facilities with such idyllic beauty as can be found at Kwelanga Country Retreat.

Our conference room provides seating for up to 60 delegates. The conference venue is fully air-conditioned and offers a white board, flip charts and overhead data projector.
Since Kwelanga Country Retreat also has a large covered barbeque area by the swimming pool, this is truly an ideal venue for any formal or informal get togethers.

Our venue caters for 150 pax and our resident chef offers an amazing menu of tastefully prepared cuisine . The idyllic venue of choice Kwelanga Country Retreat has been sculptured over the past 12 years by our reoccurring guests we enjoy seeing often on a yearly basis.

Things to do around Kwelanga Country Retreat:
George
Enjoy the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe ride along the coast to Mossel Bay. Visit the steam train museum or relax on one of the beautiful beaches. George is known for its superb golf courses such as Fancourt & Links (Home of the Presidents Cup).
Fancourt Hotel and Country Club Estate has four golf courses to offer the golfing visitor. All the courses are renowned for their amazing year round condition and attention.

Knysna
Visit the amazing world of the Knysna lagoon. Take a ferry trip across the lagoon to Featherbed Nature Reserve or enjoy fresh oysters at the waterfront.
Cruise around Seal Island or visit the Diaz museum. For the adventurer, shark cage diving or bungee jumping might be what you want.

Directions to Kwelanga Country Retreat:
Driving from Cape Town or from Port Elizabeth approaching the main road of George (York Street), turn down towards the sea.
Drive through the small town called Pacaltsdorp and look for a huge sign "Kwelanga Country Retreat" within the next 1km.
