Sundown Manor Accommodation

All luxury rooms at Sundown Manor are en-suite with large spacious showers. Rooms are fitted with King-size beds or twin beds (on request) all rooms contain a TV with select satellite channels, tea & coffee facilities, a heater, fan and safe.

This luxury room doubles as a Honeymoon Suite due to its spacious size and its large en suite bathroom complete with a double ended bath and a spacious shower.
The room opens directly onto the quiet swimming pool area and has its own private entrance. It is fitted with a King-size double-bed or twin beds (on request), a TV with select DSTV channels, a fan, heater, small safe and tea & coffee facilities.

The only thing that separates the Standard and Luxury rooms are the levels at which they are situated. All rooms have the same luxury finishes and decadent king-size beds as well as access to the same fantastic facilities.
The en suite bathrooms are fitted with spacious showers.

Sea Point Promenade
The Sea Point promenade is perfectly situated for walks in the long summer evening with a perfect view of the setting sun.
With the sea on one side and a park for most of the way on the other, this beautiful promenade stretches from Mouille Point to Bantry bay and is a favourite for runners, walkers and families.

Sea Point Olympic Size Swimming Pool
This public swimming pool complex includes a diving pool, a kiddies pool and an Olympic sized training pool. Facilities include a grassed area perfect for long summer days as well as on site showers and life guards.

History of Sundown Manor:
Gary is the manager and owner of Sundown Manor and, with the help of an excellent additional manager, works to ensure that your stay in Cape Town will be memorable.
He is on hand for advice on the best Cape Town restaurants as well as the various day trips and activities that are available. He and his family live on site which ensures that guests are always looked after.

Before beginning to remodel the private house that became Sundown Manor, Gary lived in Zimbabwe. He went to Prince Edward School, was in the Army and received his Tobacco Diploma from Blackfordby Agricultural College before farming in the Trelawney / Darwindale area of Mashonaland, Zimbabwe.

His links to this country show in his continued support of the Zimbabwean Cricket team, who memorably beat Australia in the 2007 20/20 series, and in the guesthouses' support for the plight of the elderly in this beleaguered African Nation.

Felicity is Gary's wife and she manages a successful business which specialises in importing tires, primarily from Asian nations. She and Gary are long distance runners and plan to run the Two Oceans Half Marathon this year.

Gary's daughter Amy has recently completed her four year degree in Development Studies and is looking forward to working in the Development field in Africa.
Brett is the younger sibling and although he lives at the guesthouse, is rarely seen as he is kept busy by his current communications and psychology degree, by his waitering job at the V&A Waterfront and with life guard duty on Clifton beach.

Directions:
Approaching the City on the N2 Highway (from the Airport or Garden Route) or the N1 Highway (From Paarl or the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town), follow the signs to the ‘City Centre'.
The two highways merge to form Buitengracht Street which you follow until turning right at Strand Street (at the third set of traffic lights).
This street becomes High Level Road, which you follow until you reach Avenue Normandie where you will turn right (Look for the Green sign to Camps Bay, on High level Road). Sundown Manor is clearly marked with a silver sign and is on the corner of Avenue Normandie and Norman Grove.

This bed and breakfast is located on the boundary between Sea Point and Fresnaye, combining the best of both worlds with the quiet of upmarket Fresnaye and the entertainment and nightlife of nearby Sea Point.
