a glass of Franschhoek’s award-winning wines in our cosy lounge.
To provide utmost privacy and tranquillity, Le Ballon Rouge has decided
to discontinue its restaurant service to the general public.
Exclusively for our guests, light meals can be served by David and we
can provide more elaborate dining for groups with 24 hours' prior notice.
Other activities include wine tasting in the area, walking and relaxing
with a game of golf.
How To Get To Le Balloon Rouge Guest House
From Cape Town International Airport
Keep to the left hand lane as you exit the airport and immediately past
the petrol station take the Borcherd’s Quarry exit.
This road curves sharply to the left, at traffic lights (after ±
1.5km) there is a major intersection. Turn right onto M10 then continue
for approximately 2km to the next major junction.
Turn right onto M12 (signposted for Stellenbosch & R300). This road
continues for about 5km until you reach a junction with the R300. Turn
left onto the on-ramp, no need to turn off this road, as after approximately
10km the road turns to the right and joins the N1.
Continue on the N1 and take exit 47 to Stellenbosch / Klapmuts / Wellington,
at the end of the off-ramp, turn right on to the R44. After ± 700m
you reach a 4-way stop. Go straight across. Approximately 300m on, turn
left to Franschhoek (R45) and after approximately 10km you will come to
a T-junction.
Turn right at T-junction (R45), this road leads straight into Franschhoek
(± 20km) and then becomes the main road of the village.
Upon entering Franschhoek
The main road (Huguenot Rd) passes straight through the village
and ends at the Huguenot monument. Turn left at the Post Office into Reservoir
Street East.
Le Ballon Rouge is the 3rd building on the right, parking is available
in front of the guesthouse and in a parking area at the back of the guesthouse.
