Berry Cottage is situated next to a stream on a small berry farm 5 km from the Gourmet Capital of South Africa, Franschhoek. Two well-known wineries are within walking distance and there are museums and galleries to explore in the area as well as spas for a pampering getaway.
Bird watchers will enjoy the resident Egyptian Geese in the Stone Pines lining the stream, as well as the squirrels, guinea fowl, and hadedahs.

The cottage offers 2 bedrooms, 1 with a double bed and an en-suite bathroom, the other with 2 single beds and an adjoining bathroom.

The open-plan kitchen / living room features a fireplace for cosy winter evenings and a fully-equipped kitchen should guests decide not to eat at Franschhoek's world-renowned restaurants. There is also a swimming pool available guests' use. Other features include a heater, fan, garden and mountain views.

How To Get To Berry Cottage

From Cape Town, take the N1 to Stellenbosch and then take the Klapmuts turn-off. Turn right onto the R44, continue over the four-way stop, and take the first road to the left, signposted Franschhoek. Follow the signs to Franschhoek, turning right at the T-junction onto the R45.
Follow this road to Franschhoek, crossing the Berg River Bridge, and about 4 km from the bridge you will see the wine farm La Motte on the left, with a security box and flag poles.

The first turn to the left after this is La Motte B.P. Pad. Turn onto this dirt road and about 400 m up you will reach a small wooden bridge onto the property. The cottage will then be straight ahead.
