Smitswinkel is the newest tented camp for SANParks and is located approximately 300m from the Cape of Good Hope entrance gate.
The concept of “Touching the earth lightly” lies at the heart of the Smitswinkel Tented Camp's setup and ethos - much like other camps in the park, it has been constructed entirely from locally harvested and milled timber, with a minimum impact design.
Set near a Flowering Gum plantation, the camp provides six safari tents, each complete with two single bed.
The name Smitswinkel (‘the blacksmith’s shop’) was given to this pretty little bay because of two rocks that jut out of the sea which resemble an anvil and a bellows.
