7As Beach Resort is a family owned resort located at Gimagaan, Donsol, Sorsogon, Philippines, running alongside the coastline where the gentle giants or Whale shark takes their dive. The Resort is designed to be a private retreat for those who prefer the tranquility and peace of a place with a well preserved natural setting as an alternative to other overdeveloped destinations. It is a combination of privately owned homes and resort facilities to serve the needs of its residents and guests.

Visitors can enjoy beach activities amidst lush natural landscaping and captivating tropical beach amenities. These could range from a wonderful snorkeling experience only a few meters from the shoreline or exploring the corals aboard a boat. Parents can enjoy watching their children while building sand castles and experiencing the rushing of waves on their feet for the first time. The only traffic is the multitude of fish navigating their way around corals and the only rush hour is the early morning rush to get to the water. The only noise and clatter are the lapping waves, rustling leaves and the occasional call of the local fishermen to partake of the catch of the day.

Season of Timing

Although Butanding are spotted year round in the waters off Sorsogon, the season starts around November and goes on through May. The peak season is February through April. The best times to go are in the morning, as the waters are clearer and it easier to spot the Whale Sharks. According to the locals, the Whale Sharks are also more abundant before noon. On peak season, it is very common for each visitor to see more than a dozen different Butanding.

Donsol is located at the southernmost tip of Luzon, Philippines in the province of Sorsogon, Bicol Region. The closest airport is Legaspi Airport. There are 8 flights daily between Manila and Legaspi and there is 1 flight every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday between Cebu and Legaspi. Legaspi and Donsol can also be accessed by land from Manila. The travel distance from Manila to Legaspi is about 500KM and this will take about 10 hours. Respectively, the travel distance from Manila to Donsol is about 550KM and will take 11 to 12 hours of travel, 1 km from the city center and provides accessibility to important town facilities. It has 51 minutes from Legaspi.

By Land
Travel from Legaspi to Donsol is by land and this will take about 1 hour. Guests may opt for a quick stopover at the bank, fast food drive through, or toilet. This is free of charge. However, longer stopovers for shopping, sightseeing, and such are subject to overtime charges and your driver will have to contact the office to check if this will be permitted as our driver may have other transfers scheduled for the day.
