Mozambique's 3rd largest city Nampula is in the northern section of the country, the surrounding countryside is quite beautiful with inselbergs - volcanic rocks - protruding from the landscape in several areas. Nampula City itself is developing slowly as the areas population is quite small, there is not much in the city as far as tourist attractions but Ilha de Mozambique the world heritage site and Nacala with its great bay area within an easy drive.
