Skydiving with Ground Rush Adventures: Ground Rush Adventures was founded 13 years ago by three young professionals who skydived as a hobby. Two Engineers and one fitter and turner put their jobs on hold to start a skydiving company which has grown into one of the main adrenalin activity centres in Swakopmund and Namibia. Ground Rush Adventures has come a long way, putting Swakopmund on the map as the best skydiving centre in Africa. Craig Milne and Matthias R?ttcher lead a very experienced crew of Professional Skydivers who specialise in all disciplines of Skydiving. These men have become known in the industry for their professionalism, charisma, and high safety standards. Their love for the sport, or the addiction to it, has not faded over the years and this can be felt by the tandem students in their pursuit of the ultimate feeling of freedom, freefalling.

When you first decide to skydive it may seem a crazy idea. The thought of flopping out of an aircraft does seem totally insane. However, the idea that only crazy people skydive is totally wrong. Before jumping, staff will thoroughly explain procedures and different options before you fill out a standard indemnity from. All this trouble may force the question as to how safe this skydiving really is into you mind.

The safety record of Ground Rush Adventures in immaculate. The fact that the owners and fellow tandem masters all have wives and children, most of whom has done at least one skydive may be enough to convince you that the risks are minimal. Tandem students can relive their experience through the video and photos taken during their skydive by professional cameramen.

Sandboarding with Alter Action: Trips run daily from 09:30 am until 13:30. We offer both Lie Down and Stand Up boarding both of which do not require previous experience. Lie Down boarding offers the ultimate adrenaline buzz as one can reach speeds of up to 80kph. Stand Up boarding is done on modified snowboards with soft boots and bindings.

For beginners the dunes are a perfect training ground for boardsports and full instruction is given. Experienced boarders will enjoy the uniqueness of riding in sand . With the Stand Up boarding, the Lie Down boarding is included. Transfers, equipment, safety gear, instruction, lunch and a video are all included.

Born in Namibia Shane educated himself on sea-related matters by spending every free moment fishing and observing the coastline surroundings. He has represented his country in three different angling disciplines namely Light Tackle Boat, Fresh Water and Rock & Surf. Some people learned Maths, Shane learned to to make knots. In Biology they learned to dissect a frog, Shane learned to present bait!

Now, 20 years later, he holds a Masters degree.
