Desert Selfcatering Accommodation

Desert Camp's affordable luxury accommodation comprises twenty units, each with en-suite bathroom, twin beds, fold-out sleeper couch for children and shaded verandah with kitchenette.

Each accommodation unit sleeps a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children under the age of 12 years. No other persons are permitted without prior arrangement and approval. All accommodation must be paid for in advance.

All accommodation units must be vacated by 10H00 on the day of departure. For late departure arrangements, please enquire and arrange with reception. Keys must be returned to reception when checking out.
Tasteful interior decorating reflects the special hues of the Namib Desert. Each accommodation unit has power points for hairdryers and shavers (220V) in the room as well as an external power point, own barbecue facility and vehicle parking.

Guests are requested to switch all lights off that are not in use in order to save energy.

Facilities - The Central Communal Area

Reception
All guests must report to reception on arrival in order to complete the necessary paperwork, get the room key and hire eating & cooking utensils if required. Ordering meal packs, booking meals at the nearby Lodge, requesting boma usage, purchasing firewood and firelighters are all done through reception. Public toilets are available at the reception area.
Fully Serviced Bar
The unique Desert Camp bar is constructed from carved wood and has a large screen television for viewing news and sporting events. The bar opens at 14H00 daily until late. Ice and soft drinks may be obtained between 08H30 and opening time on request at reception.
Swimming Pool
The sparkling swimming pool is the focal point of the central communal area. Cool and refreshing, with an ornamental fountain and water jets and seating down one side to add to the relaxation. The pool is only available to paying guests and is used at one's own risk. Children must be under the supervision of a responsible adult at all times.
Communal Boma's
For those travelling in groups, the boma's provide an ideal cozy area for everyone to get together for a barbeque or just to socialise. Adjacent to the swimming pool, bar and public toilets, these areas have preparation, dining and wash-up facilities. Arrange usage with reception.

PLEASE NOTE
Desert Camp does NOT provide private camping or caravan sites or facilities. All guests are required to stay in the accommodation units.

The neighbouring Sossusvlei Lodge Adventure Centre provides various planned activities of discovery into the Sossusvlei area while understanding and respecting the needs of guests for an independent and private style of travel.

Location:
Sesriem is situated at the intersection of the C27 road from Helmeringhausen and the D826 which brings traffic in from Solitaire in the north and Maltahöhe in the south when it joins with the C19.
The entrance gate to Desert Camp is located on the lefthand side of the D826 road, ±8 kilometres from the T-junction intersection with the C19.

The entrance to the world renowned Sossusvlei Lodge is situated a further 5 kilometres down the D826 on the right hand side of the road. This luxury lodge lies a mere 550 meters from the entrance gate to the Namib Naukluft Park, home to the famous Sossusvlei and some of the highest dunes in the world.
