Welcome to the Old Hawaiian Bed and Breakfast

We are located on the Island of Hawaii (known locally as 'The Big Island'. There are six major inhabited islands in the Hawaiian chain). The Big Island offers both the charm of 'Older Hawaii' and the natural beauty of a tropical paradise. Our delightful property is situated on the Wailuku River above the town of Hilo, in the older, elegant part of town.

Hawaiian Room

It looks out over the large manicured lawn and gardens towards the Wailuku River and is surrounded by lush green foliage. The very large bedroom, with its 10 foot ceilings, tiled entrance and expansive windows that provide sweeping views of the gardens, has a king size bed and large mirrored closet. Guests have use of a microwave, refrigerator and a large covered shared lanai.The room includes comfortable day bed and trundle to accommodate additional guests.

Sunrise Room

The room has 10 foot ceilings, offers a queen size bed and two sitting chairs. The Sunrise Room is mid-size between the Hawaiian Room and our Bamboo Room. Comfortable queen-size bed in traditional older Hawaiian style! The room is light and airy and the private bathroom provides a tiled, spacious shower with toilet. Within the bedroom area is a pedestal sink and ample closet space! Guests have use of a microwave, refrigerator and the large, covered shared lanai where daily breakfast is served.

Guests have use of a microwave, refrigerator and the large covered shared lanai where daily breakfast is served. The room has 10 foot ceilings and offers a queen size bed, small private bathroom with shower and a sitting area. Comfortable sitting area adorned with fresh flowers from the garden. Its glass sliding entrance door to the lanai looks out over the large manicured lawn and gardens towards the Wailuku River. Bathroom affords a comfortable shower, toilet and pedestal sink.

Directions From the Hilo Airport:

Turn right onto Kanoelehua Ave. (highway 11) turn left onto Kamehameha Avenue (Ken's Pancake House is on the left corner). Go through town, turn left at Waianuenue Avenue (last stop light in town). Go up the hill, after passing the schools, stay in the right hand lane (the road splits and you need to take the right split!) and follow the signs to the Hilo Hospital. Turn right on Waiau (First Street after the Hospital.) Turn left onto Wailuku Dr. We are about half a mile up the hill, on the right side.
