Fern Grotto Inn’s vacation rentals are located in Kapaa, on the east side of Kauai. We’re five miles from the airport, one block from the beach and only a few minutes from Kapaa’s grocery stores, restaurants and shops.

Garden Cottage

Our Garden Cottage is perfect for couples who want to experience Kauai on a budget. This 400-square-foot air conditioned studio may be one of our least expensive vacation rentals, but it has the same luxurious feel as our larger accommodations.

Ohana House

Is a popular unit for families. It has 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, air conditioned, plantation style home with a full kitchen and two of the bedrooms have queen beds and the third bedroom has two twins. Ohana house can accommodate six adults.

Canal Cottage Unit A
Is popular for short stays. It is a studio unit with a fully equipped kitchenette and has a river view as well but no lanai. This cottage has a queen bed and can accommodate 2 adults.

Canal Cottage Unit B
Is a popular cottage for short stays. It has lanai and a fully equipped kitchenette This cottage has a queen bed and can accommodate 2 adults.

River Cottage
It’s no surprise that the River Cottage is our most popular vacation rental. With its antique furnishings and secluded location, it has all the charm and romance of days gone by.

Directions to Fern Grotto Inn

Directions from Lihue airport ( LIH ) to Fern Grotto Inn.

From the airport, proceed north on Highway 51 towards Princeville. Stay in the right lane as Highway 51 will change to Highway 56. You will continue North on Highway 56 for 4 miles. You will pass Wailua Golf Course on your right and then you will cross the bridge over Wailua River. Get in the left lane before the bridge.

Immediately after the bridge you will see the intersection for Kuamoo Road (Highway 580). Make a left at the signal.

After you make a left on Kuamoo Road we are the fourth entrance on the left. The number on the mailbox says 4561. Just before our mailbox, across the street is a “Speed Limit 35” road sign. As soon as you pass that sign make a left. If you see Ohana Street then you have passed us. If you are going uphill then you have really passed us and it will be about a mile or so before you can turn around.
