Set among the idyllic scenery of African bush, surrounded by indigenous flora, Mokolodi Backpackers’ comfortable self-catering cottages will welcome you with the warm ambience Botswana has to offer.
Enjoy the wide open spaces, where nature and backpacking form a unity. Take pleasure in the hospitality of the Botswana people, infinite blue skies and sunsets to soothe the soul. Come as a stranger and leave as a friend. For most of the year Botswana is warm and dry.
Spring explodes into wonderful flora as far as the eye can see. Come and experience the beauty of the African bush and its abundance of wildlife. We offer helpful advice on your planned travels throughout Botswana. Traditional African meals are available at a number of local restaurants in Gaborone.
Accommodation
Guests can choose from a variety of lodgings, from four-person dorms and private twin units to twin chalets and luxury rondavels. Share deluxe ablution blocks or enjoy private facilities. All lodgings are all serviced daily, including towels and bedding.
Camping is available in shady spots in the garden. Don’t worry if you forgot your tent! You can rent one of ours, complete with single beds and bedding. We also have a communal kitchen, with free tea and coffee. On lovely, african evenings we can supply you with everything you need for a braai.

There’s plenty to keep you entertained at the backpackers and in the surrounding area.
If you just want to relax at the backpackers then we have a swimming pool, dart board, pool table, PC with internet and plenty of braai places or you can sit on your veranda in our shady garden, catch up on facebook and read a good book!
Botswana’s bustling capital city, Gaborone, contains a number of cultural attractions including a fascinating National Museum, a lively street market and a wide range of restaurants. Car hire can be organised on request.
Mokolodi Game Reserve is a perfect introduction to Botswana’s rich and varied wildlife. Visits can be arranged, including game drives, rhino tracking, cheetah encounters and sundowners overlooking the beautiful scenery. The Reserve self is only a 15-20 minute walk from the backpackers.
