Port Douglas is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, one of the Natural Wonders of the World. There are several excellent options for visiting the Great Barrier Reef.

The majority of tours include transfers to & from Villa San Michele, morning and afternoon tea, informative reef presentation, all snorkelling equipment and instruction, guided snorkelling tours, flotation devices and tropical buffet lunch. Certified divers can enjoy the unique experience of diving at the reef or novices can try an introductory dive.

Low-Isle Cruises

This idyllic tropical island is situated approximately 8 nautical miles from Port Douglas and is home to not only spectacular coral gardens and marine life, but to a plethora of spectacular migratory bird life such as mangrove kingfishers, sea eagles and ospreys.

Low and Woody Islands make up the Low Isles and form a protected lagoon area in between the two islands. Surrounded by 55 acres of coral reef, much of it close to the shore, snorkelling allows guests to enjoy the many different coral species, reef fish and green turtles with minimal effort.

The Daintree River is known as a naturalists paradise, it is home to a diverse ecosystem, boasting a vast array of animal and plant life, including ferns, orchids, epiphytes, as well as butterflies, fish, diverse bird life and the elusive 'Estuarine' Saltwater Crocodile, as well as breathtaking scenery.
