The Brassey

The Brassey of Canberra is a heritage-listed AAA 4-star rated property located within the central, quiet, leafy tree lined suburb of Barton. Set in two and a half acres of lawns and gardens on the fringe of the parliamentary triangle it is within walking distance to many of Canberra's Tourist attractions.

Accommodation

In stark contrast to the Brassey's early beginnings and due to a long line of refurblishments we now boast 75 guest rooms, 24 Garden Court rooms, 49 Heritage Deluxe rooms and 2 Belmore suites. All rooms have electronic key-card access, private facilities, mini bars, colour television, STD and ISD phones and data ports for internet connection. Our heritage rooms have Foxtel, and as our commitment to guest comfort and continued improvements all rooms will feature in house movies in the near future. Our newly refurbished heritage rooms are exactly as the word describes, "Heritage". With traditional style furniture in solid honey-coloured hardwood, walls rich in colour and solid brass fittings, an atmosphere of 1920's charm and elegance is reflected.

The Belmore Restaurant

The Head Chef at The Brassey of Canberra Mr. Beat Ettlin from Switzerland has created and innovative new à la carte menu for the fine dining Belmore Restaurant. Dining commences at 6.00 pm. House guests as well as the general public are all welcome. The Belmore Restaurant is the hotel's very successful à la carte restaurant. It offers fine dining in a romantic, relaxed atmosphere.

Conference

Located in the Barton business district and close to the Parliamentary Triangle, The Brassey has conference packages designed to suit all requirements. There are 6 meeting rooms of different sizes catering for groups as small as 6 up to 180 people. The lavish stage by stage refurbishment of the conference wing in 1998 saw the facilities upgraded to heritage style, including Chandeliers, Solid Wood Paneling and and Large Windows for natural light. All the necessary equipment can be provided to ensure a successful conference, and additional breakout space can be provided. Our conference facilities are ideal for Corporate and Government conferences, Workshops and training seminars and Private functions and social gatherings.

Room hire for groups with a minimum of 60 persons in The Belmore Restaurant and 90 persons in The Barton Ballroom, Floral centerpieces for each guest table, 1920’s Candelabras for the Bridal table, Linen Napkins and Tablecloths encompassing your chosen colour theme, Personalised Menus and Seating Plan, Lectern and Microphone, Gift and Cake Table, 4 x 5 metre Dancefloor, Redcarpet on Hotel Enterance Steps , Celebration Cake, cut and served on platters in cake bags, Overnight accommodation for the Bride and Groom in a Heritage Room including a full buffet breakfast, Special accommodation rates for wedding guests, Menu Tasting, Selection of two; Entree’s, Mains and Desserts, maximum 6 pax any additional dishes will incur a fee
