The Madkela Game Reserve is situated amidst the Waterberg mountains, a mere 2 hours drive from Pretoria. In this malaria free wilderness, totalling 9000 ha, one can experience
the wonder of the Waterberg, dating back thousands of years as well
as the amazing rocky outcrops which are a unique feature in this
reserve This limestone, which rests on a granite base has in time eroded,
forming the most amazing rock formations. The Waterberg lends it
to being the most comfortable bush climate in the Northern Province.

The Waterberg enjoys world wide recognition and is approved by UNESCO - the United Nations Education, Science and Cultural Organisation - and has been proclaimed a Biosphere Reserve and is protected by law.
Madikela Game Lodge Accommodation
Secluded Chalets
1 Bedroom chalet has full en-suite bathroom, TV, jacuzzi and thatched
viewing deck.
2 Bedroom chalets have shower, basin and toilet, with or without TV, jacuzzi
and thatched viewing deck.
2 Bedroom family chalets with shower, basin, toilet, TV and enclosed braai boma with jacuzzi and thatched viewing deck.

Bush Camp
This camp consists of 4 thatched cabins, thatched bush kitchen, a large
braai boma and is near the main garden and swimming pool.
The ladies and mens ablutions have hot showers, basins and flushing toilets. The camp sleeps a maximum of 40 persons. The camp has electricity and a chest freezer.
There is a large swimming pool in the garden area with an adjoining baby pool. There is also a large jungle gym, 18 hole putt-putt course and games room with a pool table to keep the children occupied.
Optional Activities (All at own cost)
There is a 60km scenic 4x4 - 4x2 trail. The trail runs along the entire
Blokland River escarpment with spectacular views of the Blokland basin
and vast Lapalala River wilderness.
There are escape routes along the way for those who have had enough. Optional activities on a neighbouring farm are horse riding and 'Big Cat' viewing. Fishing (bring your own gear) all at own cost.
These trails vary from difficult to moderate. Only experienced drivers are allowed to take on the difficult route with a minimum of two vehicles.
DIRECTIONS
. From the Pretoria, take the N1 to Polokwane.
. At the Kranskop toll take the extreme left toll gate to Modimolle (Nylstroom).
. Drive straight through Modimolle (Nylstroom) and on to Vaalwater (65kms).
. At the first stop street in Vaalwater, turn right. You are now on the
Melkrivier road (tarred all the way).
. Drive for 32kms to the Dorset - Sondagsloop cross road. At this cross
road turn left and then immediately right.
. Travel along the gravel road for 2kms to our main entrance on the right.
