We cater for Group bookings, conferences, team building and bonding as well as special events and weddings. This area boasts several small towns and coastal villages in close proximity to each other in a rugged and beautiful landscape. Fascinating day trips to historic fishing villages, nature and game reserves, fossil parks as well as numerous wine estates and majestic mountain ranges are within easy reach and Cape Town International Airport is just over one. |

We are situated on the beach at Saldanha Bay. The tranquil waters of the bay are ideal for water sports, fishing, sailing or swimming. Whale and dolphin watching charters as well as island cruises are easily arranged and the area is a hiking and bird watchers delight. 4x4 trails and safaris as well as Saldanha airport with facilities for light aircraft is close by.
Drop Anchor Beach Lodge Accommodation
All accommodation is furnished to the highest standards with shower or bath en suite. The Main Lodge en-suites are provided with fridges, Telephones, TV and coffee and tea making facilities, and the family self catering unit at the Lodge is fully equipped, can sleep up to four persons with private barbecue facilities.
In addition there is an economy open plan self catering unit which is pool facing containing a kitchen, small dining area as well as a double bed and a three quarter bed.
Barbecue/braai facilities are adjacent. Maximum three Guests We also offer self catering apartments/flats on the 1st and 2nd levels at our Dial Rock annexe which are in walking distance of the Lodge and situated right on the beach.Our fully licensed Sports Pub is in the same complex. The apartments each have secure ground floor undercover parking and are fully equipped (We regret no children under 12).
Internet access as well as e-mail and fax facilities are available on request at the lodge as well as a full laundry service. The solar heated swimming pool, theme pub and recreational facilities at the Sports Bar are all available to our Guests including easy beach access. There is remote controlled, safe and secure on site parking at the main lodge.
Saldanha Bay, also known as the Bay of Tranquillity, is suitable for most types of water sports with long sandy beaches and water warm enough for swimming most times of the year.
We have seven Self Catering Units two at the guest house and five apartments at our Dial Rock annexe situated on the 1st and 2nd floors, each suitable for 1 to four Guests.
Activities
The West Coast with its unique geographical features and sunny climate
is rapidly becoming a much sought after holiday and tourist destination
for the discerning traveller. A coastline with rugged headlands, bays
and unspoilt beaches, interspersed with charming little fishing villages,
wine estates, historical towns, game and nature reserves as well as the
West Coast Fossil Park.
There are whale, dolphin, penguin or seal viewing trips available and fishing charters as well as pleasure cruises. During springtime the whole area is blanketed with the world famous Namaqualand wild flowers.
For sport lovers there are two golf courses nearby, also horse riding stables and fascinating hiking trails. The bay is perfect for all water sports.
