that reflects the soul of Africa with its natural surroundings enhancing
your experience.
Indulge your senses in a unique fusion of different therapies designed to replenish and soothe body, mind and soul. The spa body treatments are specifically designed to detoxify the body, revitalise the skin and calm the mind.
A range of massages is available to reduce tension and relieve the cumulative effects of everyday stress. This serene environment is aimed at assisting you to unwind in the natural and tranquil surroundings.
Africology incorporates energy therapy into treatment formulations. The active energetic essences of plants are always respected in formulations, giving nature an opportunity to work in harmony with the body's energy field.
The use of radionics to transfer energetic patterns to the Africology products is another special way of keeping the treatment products constantly alive. To embody Africa's untamed spirit and majesty, healer and skin care therapist RENCHIA DROGANIS uses indigenous ingredients in her unique body treatment products. She prefers to stay away from harsh chemicals, and is always focusing on creating a therapeutic experience on the body.
Taking care of our body and skin is a first step towards self love. Africology contributes to the well-being of Africa's people, their land, and the species that share our planet. Our extensively trained Spa therapists are specialised in treatments ranging from authentic African treatments to specialised hydrotherapy treatments.
Guests can create their own Spa experience with our treatment options or they can choose from specially designed Spa package options and they are encouraged to stay after their treatments to enjoy some peaceful time at our secluded relaxation Sala. The Spa oasis also offers wonderful gifts to purchase.
Please note that Spa guests must bring their bathing costumes for all hydro treatments; i.e. steam and hydro bath facilities.

at Tau Game Lodge.
Bird Watching Safari
Covering an area of 720 km², Madikwe Game Reserve is an impressive
piece of Marico bushveld. Due to its size, a minimum of two days is required
to see a fair cross-section of the South African bird species which are
present in Madikwe.
A weekend bird watching safari during the summer months may be expected to render 190 to 210 bird species out of the 313 species recorded to date, and, during the winter months, 120 to 130 species.
Besides good birding, one is likely to encounter a fair range of larger African game. The area is also of great cultural interest, with the old school building where Herman Charles Bosman taught in the reserve, and the outline of Abjaterskop looming just beyond the western boundary.
Special Bird Species
Madikwe Game Reserve is a good place to see many dry north-western species.
Yellow-throated sandgrouse are resident on the plains, and are usually
present in large numbers. Other bird species regularly recorded on the
plains include:
| · Kori bustard | · Temminck's Courser | · White Stork |
| · Doublebanded Courser | · Burchell's Courser | · Bronzewinged Courser |
| · Pied Babbler | · Barred Warbler |
· Bronzewinged Courser (a regular summer visitor to the wooded
areas)
· Pied Babbler (frequently heard rather than seen due to the dense
bush)
· Barred Warbler (if you are familiar with the almost supersonic
call)
