". MEDIKE is situated in the Limpopo (Northern) Province about 36km west of Louis Trichardt (Makhado). This Natural Heritage Site is in the picturesque western Soutpansberg where the Sand River (Mongezi) has cut an impressive gorge through the mountain. |

The best way to savour Medike's rich ecological diversity is on foot. More than 30km of marked hiking trails meander through forested kloofs, rugged gorges, archaeological sites and mountain streams to waterfalls, spectacular rock formations and a mysterious Bushman shelter with ancient rock art.
Campfires, a leopard rasping in the distance, star filled nights, eagles soaring above the mountains and true bushveld hospitality will make your Medike sojourn even more memorable.
Medike Mountain Reserve Accommodation
Please Note:
Medike has no Eskom Power. All our Cabins make use of either Solar Panel
or Donkey Geysers for heating water.
Fridges are powered by Gas. All Cabins are equipped with Paraffin lamps.
Drinking water comes from a Mineral Spring.
Dzhiawolala Pioneer Cottage
Dzhiawolala Pioneer cottage is a thatched renovated trading post dating
back to the nineteen thirties. It is situated under large trees and has
a double bed and one single bed on the loft and three single beds downstairs.
Bedding, linen and towels are provided. Fully equipped or self caterers with a gas stove , gas fridge with freezer compartment and paraffin lamps.
Beds sleeps 7; double bed plus1 single bed on loft plus 4 beds downstairs - openplan. Bathroom Facilities bathroom with bath and toilet inside and outside shower and toilet.
Masianoke Log Cabin
Masianoke is a four bed log cottage with a thatched deck and a spectacular360º
view on the surrounding mountains. Bedding, linen and towels are provided.
Fully equipped for self caterers with a gas stove , gas fridge with freezer
compartment and paraffin lamps.
Beds sleeps 4; 2 beds downstairs - openplan plus loft with 2 beds. Bathroom Facilities bathroom with toilet and shower.
Mongezi Hut
Mongezi is a thatched rondawel sleeping two, tucked away in the bush and
surrounded by the cliffs of the Soutpansberg. Bedding, linen and towels
are provided. The outside shower is a major attraction. Fully equipped
for self caterers with a gas stove , gas fridge with freezer compartment
and paraffin lamps.
Beds sleeps 2; double bed. Bathroom Facilities toilet inside plus outside shower.
Murango Boulder Cottage
Murango boulder cottage is build around huge boulders on the banks of
the Sand River. It has a room with a double bed downstairs, two lofts;
one with two single beds and one with three single beds. Bedding, linen
and towels are provided. There is a bathroom with a shower inside the
cottage as well as an outside toilet and shower. The kitchen is fully
equipped for self caterers with a gas stove , gas fridge with freezer
compartment.
Beds sleeps 8; 2 lofts with 4 and 2 beds each and a bedroom with 1 doublebed. Bathroom Facilities bathroom with toilet and shower plus outside shower and toilet.

We are able to facilitate personal, exclusive custom-made excursions in
and around the Soutpansberg and Blouberg. Experienced, accredited freelance
guides will accompany you and introduce you to various aspects (Cultural/
Historic/ Art and Crafts / Nature/ Rock Art) of the Soutpansberg region.
