Ladismith Country House offers a heart-warming breakfast in the perfect
Karoo setting. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in our dining room or on the
patio overlooking the garden and Klein Karoo landscape with the welcoming
sounds of guinea-fowl, hadeda, partridge and pheasants.
Evenings are characterized by delightful candlelight 3-course dinners, using local and fresh produce out of our garden and Green House, which are creatively prepared and beautifully served. You will have a choice between various main course dishes. Delicious organic lamb from our own farm will always be on the menu. You will come back for more!
What to do
During the day, enjoy a scenic walk on the farm before heading out to
the famous George International airport only two hours away.
The famous Seweweekspoort, gateway to the Greater Karoo, is a 10 minute drive from Ladismith Country House. This un-commercialized, untouched gateway is a must see for tourist doing the R62. If you would like to be more adventurists and you got time on hand, take the turn-off to your right and do the Bosluyskloof road that take you to the Gamkapoort Dam. Breathtaking views will await you!
On the farm there are hiking trails - short distance as well as longer distances for the fitter ones. If you got a mountain bike, please bring it with. Annually the famous Seweweekspoort Mountain Bike Race passes the Country House on there way back to Ladismith.
The Seweweekspoort is 10miniutes drive from Ladismith Country House. Otherwise, just chill at the swimming pool in the shade of the trees or enjoy a cold drink on your private patio.

Visit & See
Ladismith is situated in the most beautiful region of the Klein Karoo.
The beautiful town Ladismith has a rich architectural heritage and several
buildings have been declared as National Monuments. Ladismith, as with
the rest of the Klein Karoo benefited from the ostrich feather boom period
at the beginning of the previous century. Visit Ladismith Cheese Factory
with a selection of fine and delectable cheeses. Ladismith Wine Cellar
offers the wine lover a great wine selection.
For the hiking enthusiast there is the famous Elandsberg mountain trail that takes you all the way to Stanley's Light or Towersig mountain trail, which takes one to Ladismith's famous landmark, Towerkop. Ladismith also have a nine-hole golf course.

From Cape Town – N1 Highway:
320KM FROM LADISMITH
• From Cape Town, take the N1 highway towards Paarl / Worcester
• Continue through the Huguenot Tunnel until you reach signs for
Worcester
• Take this second turn-off to Worcester on your right
• Continue with this road(over the bridge) until you reach a sign
for Robertson to your left
• Continue on and take the right turn-off to Robertson and continue
until you reach Robertson
• Follow the signs to Ashton / Montagu
• Continue with this road until you reach Montagu
• You are now on the famous Route 62
• Drive straight through Montague towards Barrydale
• Drive through Barrydale towards Ladismith staying on the Route
62
20KM TO LADISMITH COUNTRY HOUSE
18KM TAR ROAD & 2KM GOOD DIRT ROAD
• Turn right at the first T-junction in Ladismith (next to the Route
62 Café)
• Carry on approximately 10km until you reach Ladismith Country
House & Hoeko Valley signs.
• Turn left at these signs
• You will now travel through the Hoeko Valley on a tar road
• This road becomes a gravel road after 8km
• Approximately 2km from the start of the gravel road, you will
see Ladismith Country House signs on your right & left
• Turn left at these signs for 100m and a warm Klein Karoo Welcome
awaits you!
7KM TO LADISMITH COUNTRY HOUSE
7KM DIRT ROAD
• Turn left at the first stop street (T-junction) in Ladismith
• Immediately turn right at the next street (Church Street) opposite
the church.
• Go straight over the four-way stop (Standard Bank is on your left)
• At the next four-way stop, turn left
• The road makes a bend to your right and change into a dirt road.
Keep on straight on towards the mountains
• Continue 7km with the Klein Swartberg Mountains on your left
• The Ladismith Country House signage will be on your right &
left
• Turn right at these signs for 100m and a warm Klein Karoo welcome
awaits you
From Knysna - N2/George:
• From Knysna, follow the road towards George on the N2
• Once in Knysna road in George, take the right turn-off towards
Oudtshoorn
• From George airport, follow the directions towards Oudtshoorn
• You will continue over the Outeniqua Pass
• Continue on this road until you reach Oudtshoorn
• Once you have reached Oudtshoorn, follow the roadsigns towards
Calitzdorp / Ladismith
• Calitzdorp is situated 50km from Oudtshoorn
• You will travel over the Huisriver Pass
• About 10km before you reach Ladismith (Ladismith is situated 40km
from Calitzdorp), you will see “Ladismith Country House –
10km” signs (The Scenic Rd)
• Take this right turn-off
• Continue with the tar road for 8km until it becomes a gravel road
for 2km
