Lochinver hotels Glendarroch House is a traditional Highland home built 170 years ago and in the ownership of the same family ever since. Fully modernized to the highest standards it stands in grounds of 15 acres with nature all around.

Glendarroch House Accommodation

Glendarroch sleeps up to 6 people. The sleeping arrangement comprises 2 king size double bedrooms, one twin room and one cosy child’s bedroom. A cot and high chair are also provided if required. All bedrooms have excellent storage, and uninterrupted views of the mountains. A fine thing to wake up to!

Glendarroch features a well-sized fully fitted kitchen with all modern conveniences, including Neff hob and fan oven and Bosch dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, refrigerator, and upright freezer. The adjoining open-plan dining room boasts a glorious view of the waterfall outside the house.

The comfortable living room has a leather reclining suite, with satellite television, DVD player, CD and tape player and radio. For entertainment a range of board games and jigsaws are provided to supplement a well stocked library of 550 books covering a range of interests and 80 DVD's’s of popular films and tv series.

Glendarroch has a downstairs bathroom with corner bath with shower and toilet, and an upstairs shower room and toilet. The house is centrally heated with excellent high pressure hot water supply. Electricity, heating and bed linen (Dorma) are all included and duvets are 13.5 tog all season for comfort. Towels can be provided on request. And, if you must check your email, broadband is available for a small charge!

Rates are INCLUSIVE of a wide range of “extras” including electricity, full central heating, bed linen, constant hot water, wireless broadband and a library of 550 books and 40 films on DVD.

A week runs from 4.00pm on Saturday until 10.00am the following Saturday. Off season and late availability SHORT BREAKS are occasionally available, please enquire for details.

Glendarroch House nestles in a secluded glen close to the popular village of Lochinver and faces a truly outstanding panorama of the mountains of Assynt and Wester Ross. You can enjoy remarkable peace, silence and privacy yet be only a few minutes from the interests of the village shops and harbour. As one visitor put it “It feels remote, but is so convenient”!

The house features a garden to the front and sides, with lawns and mature plum, cherry and pear trees. Your very own burn with waterfall runs just outside the house, a spectacular sight after rainy days. The 15 acre grounds also contain mature oak, birch and hazel woodland- the name Glendarroch meaning Glen of the Oaks in Gaelic- as well as heather moorland.

For the adventurous, the views of Suilven, Cul Mor, Cul Beag, and Stac Pollaidh from the house should whet the appetite. Closer to home, there are fine walks in any direction from the house.

DIRECTIONS
Getting There by Car:

Take A9 north from Inverness. At Tore Roundabout take A835 to Ullapool. At Ullapool continue on A835 to Ledmore Junction and then take A837 to Lochinver. On entering Lochinver village take first right (signed Glendarrach) and keep right on to the end of the road, ignoring all left turns.

Getting There by Railway:
From Inverness train station take A9 and A835 to Ullapool, then A837 to Lochinver approximately 95 miles. (Car hire available)

Getting there by Aeroplane:
Inverness Airport is well connected to the rest of the UK and Ireland. From Inverness Airport take A96 to Inverness, A9 and A835 to Ullapool then A837 to Lochinver. Approximately 100 miles. (Car hire available)
