This attractive small campsite includes 8 shielings (wooden tents). It has basic facilities providing an easily accessible rural experience just 30 minutes by car from central Glasgow or the Ayrshirecoast.

The campsite is a 20 minute drive from Glasgow Airport or a 40 minute drive from Prestwick Airport. Enjoy the peace and quite - mobile phone reception is poor!

Listen to the Locher Burn meander pass, take advantage of the nearby community woodland for walks, views to Loch Lomond National Park and a link route (5.5km) to Muirshiel Country Park and Visitor Centre. The site is NOT suitable for caravans or dogs.

The nearest shops, bank, catering outlets and public telephone are at least 4 miles away in Lochwinnoch, Bridge of Weir or Kilmacolm. The larger towns of Paisley and Greenock are 10 to 15 miles away providing a full range of visitor services, attractions and leisure facilities.

The Sheilings have a light and a small heater and must be booked in advance. Please contact the campsite during office hours for more information. Open daily Easter to October. Tent Pitches available (charges based on 2 adults).

Activities and Attractions
Two Country Parks are nearby – Castle Semple Country Park in Lochwinnoch is located on the shores of Castle Semple Loch. The Visitor Centre has refreshments and gifts and provides information on lochshore and woodland walks, boat and bike hire facilities, outdoor activity courses (must be prebooked) and a Countryside Ranger Service.

Muirshiel Country Park is 6 miles away by road at the top of the Calder Glen, the Visitor Centre is open daily all season providing information on walks and wildlife as well as refreshments and gifts. During the breeding season (April to July) Hen Harriers can be seen over the moors and CCTV images from the nest site viewed in the Visitor
Centre.

Getting There by Car:
Road: on B786 between Lochwinnoch and Kilmacolm, follow brown signs for Barnbrock off the A737/A760 in Lochwinnoch.

Getting There by Railway:
Train: Nearest station Lochwinnoch 5 miles. Ardrossan/Ayr line from Glasgow Central. Johnstone Railway station 6 miles, with taxi rank.
