Five-star comfort in the middle of the capital

Hilton Windhoek opened in 2011 and is still the most striking hotel in the city — a modern block in the central business district, next to the Bank of Namibia and close to the main government and financial offices. The Independence Memorial Museum and the Craft Centre are within about 500 metres, and the Christuskirche and Alte Feste are just around the corner.

The rooms are decorated in a warm, contemporary African style, and many look out over the city. On the ninth floor the Skybar sits beside the pool on a wooden deck, a quiet place to swim by day and the city’s best-known sundowner spot in the evening.

There is a lot under one roof: the Centrum lobby café with live piano music, Ekipa for buffets and grills, D’vine for wine and tapas, the Kalabar sports bar, the Mondjila Wellness Centre spa, a 24-hour gym and event space for up to 400 people.

Guest and Deluxe Rooms, Executive Rooms and Junior Suites with Executive Lounge access, and the Diplomatic and Presidential Suites. All are non-smoking and air-conditioned, with free Wi-Fi.

Guest & Deluxe Rooms

Most of the hotel’s 150 rooms are Guest and Deluxe Rooms, finished in a warm, contemporary African style and many with views over the city.

King rooms have a king-size bed, a large desk and a seating area; twin rooms have two double beds or twin beds, and connecting rooms can be arranged for families.

Every room has air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a TV, a minibar, a safe and tea and coffee, with an en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower.

Executive Rooms & Junior Suites

A step up in space, with a king or twin beds, a sofa bed and a bigger bathroom with a walk-in shower, bath and double vanity.

Junior Suites add a separate living area and a dining table for four.

Both include breakfast and access to the Executive Lounge, with its 180-degree views over the city, afternoon tea and evening cocktails — well worth it for a business trip or a longer stay.

Diplomatic & Presidential Suites

The hotel’s top suites, with a separate living room and king bedroom.

The Presidential Suite sleeps up to three — two adults and a child on a rollaway or cot — and adds a dining area, a kitchenette, a private terrace and a marble bathroom with a separate bath and multi-jet shower.

Suite guests get breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening cocktails and snacks in the Executive Lounge.

For location and polish. You can walk to the city’s main sights, shops and offices, and come back to a full-service international hotel with a pool, a spa and plenty of choice for dinner. It works equally well for a business trip, a city break or the first and last nights of a self-drive.
