Gondwana Kalahari Park · camping with a bed and a bathroom

Kalahari Anib Camping2Go

Mariental Area, Kalahari, Namibia

Eight self-catering tents under old camel thorn trees in the red Kalahari sand, 30 km northeast of Mariental. Each sleeps four, with its own bathroom and outdoor kitchen — and the pools, bar, restaurant and nature drives of Kalahari Anib Lodge a short walk away.

The stay

Camping comfort in the Kalahari

Camping2Go is Gondwana's answer to the long Namibian self-drive: all the freedom of a campsite, without pitching a tent or packing bedding. At Kalahari Anib the eight tents are spaced out among ancient acacias on the red sand of the Gondwana Kalahari Park, each looking out across the dunes.

Every tent comes ready to live in — four beds made up with linen, towels, a private bathroom and a shaded outdoor kitchen with a fridge, gas cooker, utensils and a braai. All you bring is food, drinks and firewood.

The big advantage here is Kalahari Anib Lodge next door. You can cook your own supper one night and eat at the restaurant the next, cool off in either of the two pools, have a drink at the bar, and join the lodge's drives and walks — all without moving your car.

Where you will sleep

Eight four-bed tents

Camping2Go Tent

A roomy safari-style tent with four beds, made up with bedding when you arrive, and a private en-suite shower and bathroom.

A fan keeps the air moving on summer afternoons; in winter, pack warm layers, as Kalahari nights can drop below freezing.

It suits a family or a group of friends travelling together — children up to 5 stay free, and 6 to 13-year-olds pay half.

Outdoor Kitchen & Veranda

Each tent has its own fully equipped, shaded outdoor kitchen with seating, a fridge, a gas cooker and all the pots, pans, crockery and cutlery you need.

Beside it is a braai for the evening fire — bring your own wood or charcoal.

Not in the mood to cook? The restaurant at Kalahari Anib Lodge is a short walk away.

What to do

Why stay at Kalahari Anib Camping2Go?

It is one of the best-value ways to stay in the Kalahari with a family or group: one tent sleeps four, you cook for yourselves, and you still get the facilities of a full lodge next door. For self-drivers heading between Windhoek, Sossusvlei and the Fish River Canyon, it makes an easy and affordable stop.

The setting does the rest. Red dunes, golden grass and camel thorn trees surround the tents, and the Gondwana Kalahari Park is home to oryx, springbok, eland, ostrich and the huge communal nests of sociable weavers — much of which you can see on foot from the camp.
