The Boardwalk Lodge buildings blend into the backdrop of one of South Africa’s most beautiful stretches of indigenous forests and overlook the blue Indian Ocean and surrounding lagoons.

Boardwalk Lodge offers superb accommodation to suit your pocket and purpose, ranging from the convenient luxury Bed & Breakfast rooms and suites, to the superior fully-equipped, self-catering timber chalets. All the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with both shower and bath.

Boardwalk Lodge is built on a forested slope and features stairs to reach the various rooms or chalets, but the view is worth the climb!
The main guest house buildings are styled in a luxurious yet modern Afro-contemporary manner and consist of 4 luxury bedrooms, 1 luxury 1-bedroom studio suite and 1 luxury 2-bedroom family suite, each with private deck.

The Breakfast Room is also located in the building. The rim-flow swimming pool is located below the luxury rooms and Breakfast Room in lush, landscaped gardens.
Between 20 and 30 steps link the main guest house buildings.
The self-catering timber chalets are located higher up on the slopes and are styled in a comfortable, yet contemporary manner.
Spacious open-plan living areas have been cleverly geared towards catering for any season. Between 10, 130 and 150 steps are required to reach the various chalets.

These two timber chalets are situated high on the slopes, offering spectacular views of the village, lagoon and sea. The simplex chalets are very private and ideal for families or honeymoon couples.
Due to the location of the chalets, there are approximately 140 to 150 steps to climb up the winding boardwalk from the parking area.
A porterage service is provided free of charge and the view is worth the climb!

Each simplex has 1 en-suite bedroom (with bath and shower), a large lounge, a fully-equipped kitchen with a dining area leading onto a large deck.
The wooden deck has a gas BBQ grill that is ideal for late afternoon sundowners and snacks – order one of our Cheese & Wine Platters or our Barbeque Pack to enjoy while watching the beautiful sunset!

These chalets have 2 main levels, with a mezzanine sitting room and a gas fire-place.
Due to the location of the chalets, there are approximately 10 to 130 steps to climb up the winding boardwalk from the parking area. A porterage service is provided free of charge and the view is worth the climb!

Each duplex has 2 en-suite bedrooms (each with bath and shower), a fully-equipped kitchen with a dining area, a mezzanine sitting room and a large lounge leading onto a large deck. Luxury Family Suite:
Two Bedrooms:

This Afro-contemporary-styled private family suite is situated in the main guest house building, above the Breakfast Room and faces the sea and the village of Wilderness.

Ideal for 2 adults with 1 or 2 children. It has its own private entrance, 2 en-suite bedrooms, a separate lounge area and the equipped kitchenette allows for minor catering.
The main en-suite bathroom has a bath and shower-over-bath and the 2nd en-suite bathroom has a bath only.
PLEASE NOTE: This suite is not ideal for 2 couples to share as the main bedroom is open-plan to the lounge and bathroom whilst the second smaller bedroom has direct access to the lounge via a inter-leading door and is not of the same luxury standard as the lounge & main bedroom.

Therefore this suite is more ideal for a family rather than 2 couples as the open-plan layout of the main bedroom might be a tad uncomfortable for the 2 parties - one of our Duplex chalets is the ideal situation and option for 2 couples.
The large wooden deck allows for late afternoon sundowners and snacks – order one of our Cheese & Wine Platters to enjoy while watching the beautiful sunset! You are most welcome to use the BBQ facility at the pool area – order one of our Barbeque Packs to enjoy while relaxing beside the swimming pool!

DIRECTIONS FROM CAPE TOWN:
Follow the N2 National Highway out of Cape Town. The drive to Wilderness should take you approximately 4½ to 5 hours.
The speed limits between major towns is 120 km per hour, but beware of speed cameras and traffic enforcement on the borders of most towns.
En route to Wilderness, you will pass major towns such as Somerset West, Riviersonderend, Swellendam, Riversdale, Mossel Bay and George. Ideal petrol stops, if required, are at Mossel Bay or Great Brak. Continue with George Airport.

DIRECTIONS FROM GEORGE AIRPORT:
Exit George Airport. At T-junction take a right turn and follow the directions to the N2 Highway. Turn left onto the N2 Highway towards Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. The N2 Highway passes the city of George on the left.


** Pass the Sandkraal Road turn-off, after which the N2 will join up with the Knysna Road from the George city centre. Keep on following the N2 as it winds its way through the Wilderness Pass. An indicator of the start of Wilderness Pass is the Far Hills Hotel entrance on your left.
Please be especially careful to follow the speed limits on the pass, as there are at least two speed cameras as you travel through the pass and Wilderness. As you drive through Wilderness, you’ll spot a Caltex Garage / Fueling Station on your left. Turn left into George Road at the Caltex Station.


*** Continue along George Road as it passes through the village and the VG International Wilderness Resort Hotel on your left.
At the T-Junction with Waterside Road, turn left. Then take the second road right, into Constantia Kloof Road. A short distance up the road, you’ll see a large Boardwalk Lodge sign on your right.
Turn right into Young Terrace at the sign. Follow the driveway up, past the yellow house on your right. Continue up the driveway until you see a sign that indicates the Boardwalk Lodge Reception.

DIRECTIONS FROM PORT ELIZABETH:
Follow the N2 National Highway out of Port Elizabeth. The drive to Wilderness should take you approximately 4 to 4½ hours. The speed limit between major towns is 120 km per hour, but beware of speed cameras and traffic enforcement on the borders of most towns. En route to Wilderness, you will pass major towns such as Humansdorp, Plettenberg Bay, Knysna and Sedgefield. Ideal petrol stop, if required, is at Plettenberg Bay.

The N2 Highway passes through the towns of Knsyna and Sedgefield. Follow the N2 as it winds its way from Sedgefield to Wilderness.
An indicator of the start of Wilderness is the Wilderness Beach Hotel on your right. Please be especially careful to follow the speed limits on the pass as there is at least one speed camera as you travel through Wilderness.
As you drive through Wilderness, you’ll spot a Caltex Gas/Petrol Station on your right. Turn right into George Road at the Caltex Station. Continue with directions from ***
