If you're looking to take your spouse or family away for the weekend or you need the perfect event venue that's not too far away or even if its just a quick stopover halfway to the Kruger National Park that you're looking for.
Bergwaters is a lovely blend of country elegance and modern comforts with beautifully redecorated en suit rooms and comfortable lounge and dining areas.

Bergwaters Eco Lodge and Spa Accommodation

We offer 7 chalets with en-suite bathrooms, a two bedroom family unit, 2 self-catering cottages and an up-market executive / honeymoon suite with a fireplace, all surrounded by natural forests teaming with birdlife. All our rooms have air-conditioners and DSTV.

We have a variety of accommodation available that can cater for 30 sharing or 15 single.
Our "Five Owls" restaurant offers memorable four-course dinners, sun washed breakfasts and genial lunches either indoors or on the veranda over looking the pool.

Lodge Facilities And Service

The subtropical nurtured gardens and natural forests where clear streams trickle by are a bird watchers and hikers paradise. For the fishermen, our streams and dams are stocked with Brown and Rainbow Trout offering unrivaled fly fishing experiences while the "fisherman's wife" indulges in a pampering at our Spa salon, offering Manicures, Pedicures, Aromatheropy, Indian Head and Basalt Hot Stone massages.

To get the heart rate up a bit, we have a tennis court, squash court and a fully equipped gym with sauna. Alternatively, you can simply relax around the swimming pool, play darts or pool.
Other activities such as Rock climbing, abseiling, horse riding, or mountain biking can be arranged with Rock 'n Rope Adventures operating in the Waterval Onder/Boven area.

Mpumalanga's Popular tourist destinations such as Kruger National Park, Sabie, Dullstroom, White River, Blyde River canyon (Gods Window), Sudwala Caves, Long Tom Pass, Pilgrims Rest and Kaapschehoop are all within close proximity

Ideally situated in the beautiful, malaria-free Elands Valley (Kruger Gateway) in Mpumalanga, Bergwaters is perfectly situated for local and international tourists on route to and from the Kruger National Park or Maputo in Mozambique.

Bergwaters can also be used as a base when operating in or touring Waterval Boven/Onder, Nelspruit, Ngodwana, Machadodorp and the Highlands Meander.
Be warned though, you will regret not staying for longer!

A fully equipped and air-conditioned conference room that can cater for up to 36 delegates is available for your specific requirements. Breakaway groups can be accommodated on the veranda, lounge or any of the numerous tranquil locales in the garden.

Bergwaters offers fully equipped conference and event facilities supported by luxurious accommodation, delectable cuisine and professional hospitality.
Internet access via a wireless LAN and up to date audio-visual equipment are available.
Various team building activities can be arranged. Extracurricular facilities include a pool, sauna, gym, tennis, squash, fly-fishing and nature trails are available.
Specific meal requirements can be arranged on request.

We gladly invite day visitors to frequent our "Five Owls" restaurant, tea garden , and sports pub, renowned in Waterval Boven for its hearty breakfasts, memorable four-course dinners and refreshing light lunches.
Enjoy a sun washed breakfast on the veranda overlooking the pool, or join us for a memorable four-course dinner in a fire lit setting surrounded by the ambience of nature’s finest orchestra. Light lunches or picnic baskets are available by arrangement.

We can cater for your special occasions - birthdays, anniversaries, meetings, wedding's etc .
Many have found our restaurant, social bar and unpretentious lounge facilities one of the finest dinning venues in the Waterval Boven/Onder and Machadodorp area.
Bergwaters Eco Lodge, a family owned and managed business was acquired by Ernie, Chantel and Ivan in September 2007. Having successfully operated a Wimpy franchise for three years, the family decided to tackle a larger project and move out of the city.. so we purchased Bergwaters Lodge and relocated the family to Warerval Onder in Mpumalanga.
Our mission is to deliver professional hospitality and affordable family fun to both the local and international tourist. Be assured that you will be received and served with warm hospitality in a relaxing family atmosphere.

Enjoy a relaxing stroll in the tranquil garden or along the clear waters of the Joubert stream, which boasts lovely secluded rock pools in a setting that stimulates rejuvenation.
For energetic guests we have a tennis court, squash court, gym with sauna, pool table and a dartboard. Alternatively, you can relax around the swimming pool or hike up to the top of the mountain over looking the lodge.
Trout fishing is available on site. Abseiling, horse riding, mountain biking and rock climbing can be arranged.
The spectacular Elands Waterfall is just up the road from the lodge, near the old ZASM tunnel.
