Edward House is a favourite destination for travelers on the world famous Blue Train as well as the romantic steam train, Rovos Rail.
Yet amidst this old fashioned serenity we offer free internet access, air-conditioning, laptop safes and minibars in each room. The guesthouse, which stands in the leafy streets of Waterkloof, is a fine example of the Edwardian style of domestic architecture in South Africa.
Edward House is a peaceful private world, which combines Edwardian hospitality with modern convenience.
Our decor is quiet, refined, and characterized by moulded cornices, polished wooden floors, brocades, laces, tapestries, roll top Edwardian baths and solid furniture.
In keeping with the whole Colonial African experience, Edward House is designed for a hot climate.
Three of our bedrooms open onto the romantic covered veranda that overlooks the fairways of the Pretoria Country Club golf course.

Cecil John Rhodes Room : A spacious, imposing double room with queen size bed, Edwardian bathroom, direct access to the wrap-around veranda and beautiful views across golf course and gardens.

Jan Smuts Room : Simple cotton prints and a quiet colour scheme characterise this double room with a queen size bed opening on to a veranda with a view over the garden.

Olive Schreiner Room : A single / double room dressed in cottons and silks in the soft faded colours of yesteryear, the Schriener Suite features a full period bathroom and double four poster bed.

Mahatma Ghandi Room : Furnished in the spicy colours of the east, this double room features a queen size bed, a separate work area and direct access to the wrap-around veranda.

Directions to Edward House
Travel northwards to Pretoria along the N1 Exit on the Rigel off-ramp turning left Follow Rigel for approximately 3 km until you reach Delphinus or Aries Turn right at either one and follow road until it joins with Sidney.
Follow Sidney until you reach Edward Street 406 is on the corner of Edward and Sidney opposite the golf course.
