Villa Tarentaal is a special bed and breakfast located in the pristine wine lands of Tulbagh, South Africa. Villa Tarentaal is named after the guinea fowl that run freely in the secluded gardens. Here you will find a quiet atmosphere, stunning views and privacy. If you are looking for seclusion, personalized service, attention to detail and wide open space you have found your getaway. Dramatic views of the Witzenburg Mountains, olive orchard and surrounding vineyards invite you to relax and renew.

Blue Crane Cottage:
This cottage offers spectacular views from a private veranda that overlooks a dam. the gardens and the Witzenburg Mountains.
This charming, two bedroom cottage exudes warmth. Creamy yellows and contrasting earth tones create a simple elegance while the numerous windows capture the morning sun and crisp, fresh air. The Italian style bathroom features a separate shower and bath, wide mirror and lavish basin.
The master bedroom is fitted with a King size bed with white washed headboards and bedside tables, a personal vanity and ample cupboard space. The second bedroom has two single beds (can be converted to King), storage space and personal vanity.

Fish Eagle Cottage:
This private oasis of comfort is nestled in the garden. Romantic pastels, calming cream colors create a tranquil atmosphere both inside and out.
Cozy chairs provide the perfect reading spot or linger on the patio while enjoying some wine and a braai. Rich, antique dark woods and simple textures in the bedroom complete the “cottage-comfort” feel.

Egyptian Goose Cottage:
Both spacious and cozy Egyptian Goose has a true cottage atmosphere. Soft woods, lovely carpets and warm colors make this cottage captivate and delight.
Light greens and crisp whites create a warm and inviting setting for the perfect country escape. Large windows provide excellent views of the gardens surrounding the cottage.
Creamy tiles, a sparkling shower and an elegant basin define the bathroom. Curl up in the queen size bed or relax next to the fire on the welcoming couch.

Villa Tarentaal Facilities

Take the time to spoil yourself with a private breakfast.
We serve breakfast to you either on your veranda or in your cottage at a time that suits you. Choose from something sweet, like our freshly baked croissant french toast to healthy, such as our fresh tropical fruit salad. Full English style breakfasts are also available.
There are options to suit every taste. All breakfast served with fresh juice, coffees, teas and fresh bread. Champagne breakfasts are also available, if you are looking for that special touch let us know!

Indulge in one of our in house spa treatments.
A combination of essential oils is used for all treatments according to individual needs. For facials Gatineau products are used.

Our accommodation has it all, Tulbagh Mountain views, olives, swimming pool and lush gardens to explore.

Directions:
From Cape Town take the N7 to Malmesbury.
From Malmesbury take the R46 towards Riebeek-Kasteel.
Remain on the R46 to Hermon.
At Hermon, turn left, and continue to Tulbagh on the R46.
Once in Tulbagh, make a left on to Van der Stel Street. Continue through the town of Tulbagh to a stop street. The Dutch Reformed Church is on your right.
Continue straight through the stop street for approximately .5 KM. You pass a small dam on your left. The entrance to Villa Tarentaal is on your left, just past the dam.
