Somerset West is nestled between the slopes of the Helderberg mountain and the False Bay coastline and is a gateway to scenic drives and the Winelands.

Cape Topaz Accommodation

Cape Topaz offers three up market, luxurious rooms. Each of the comfortable rooms is equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, safe, air con and TV/M-Net/shared DStv.
The spacious bathrooms are en-suite and have a shower and bath with luxurious toiletries and bathrobes. All rooms have a balcony, overlooking the Helderberg Mountain or with panoramic view over False Bay.

Cape Topaz offers three up market, luxurious rooms, the Buchu Mountain View Room , the Erika Mountain View Room and the Protea Sea View Room.
Each of the comfortable rooms is equipped with cotton percale linen, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, safe, aircon and TV/MNet/shared DSTV.
The spacious bathrooms are en suite and have a shower and bath with luxurious amenities. All rooms have a balcony, overlooking the Helderberg Mountain or with panoramic view over False Bay.

BUCHU MOUNTAIN VIEW ROOM:
The Buchu room offers a comfortable double bed and en suite bathroom with shower and bath. Both room and bathroom are spacious and luxuriously appointed with elegant decorating, percale linen and luxurious bath sheets. Tea / coffee facilities, hairdryer, mini safe, internet access and TV/Mnet/shared DSTV are available in the room. The bathroom has a range of exquisite amenities and toiletries, including robes.
Buchu room's own balcony offers superb vistas of the Helderberg Mountain, as well as inviting views of the swimming pool in the garden below.
The Buchu room might be remembered for its understated elegance and soft comfort, but the wonderful times spent on the balcony, gazing the hours away at the Helderberg whilst sipping a cold Chardonnay in the twilight zone of the late afternoon, will lure you back time and again.

ERIKA MOUNTAIN VIEW ROOM:
The Erika room offers two single beds and an en suite bathroom with shower and bath. From its balcony the Helderberg Mountain can be viewed in all its majestic glory, and on a clear day the mountain's crisp outline is awesomely etched against the blue sky, almost within touching distance.
The Erika has all the facilities of the other two rooms, namely tea/coffee making equipment, hairdryer, mini safe, internet access and TV/Mnet/shared DSTV.
The spacious bathroom is well appointed with big, soft cotton robes and exquisite shower gels and shampoo. The percale linen of both beds ensure a night´s rest (or midday siesta) in luxurious comfort.

PROTEA SEA VIEW ROOM:
The Protea room is truly the master bedroom of Cape Topaz, offering a spacious interior with a comfortable queen double bed and en suite bathroom.
Percale linen complements the understated elegance.
The big walk-on balcony - with its own private entrance to the room - provides a beautiful setting for enjoying a glass of wine whilst watching the incredible sunsets over False Bay and breathtaking view of the Cape Flats and Table Mountain.
Protea is equipped with tea/coffee making equipment, hairdryer, fan and mini safe. Internet access and TV/Mnet/shared DSTV are available.
The bathroom offers both shower and bath with a choice of exquisite shampoo, shower gels and hand/body lotions. This is a room for the romantic, with breakfast on the balcony in the clean, crisp morning air, or sundowners in the late afternoon, hypnotized by the glowing, everlasting sunsets on the False Bay horizon.

Services and Facilities at Cape Topaz Bed and Breakfast

To make your stay even better, we offer the following services.
· Airport Transfer: We're more than happy to collect, or drop you off. This service will often save you stress and money, as it costs less than car rental for one day.
· Car hire: We can help organize car hire for you - either in advance or when you get here. The car can be delivered to the airport or at Cape Topaz.
· Internet access: We have wireless Internet access in all the rooms. There is also a computer you can use in the lounge. Internet access is free!
· Languages: We speak English, Dutch, Afrikaans, French, German
· Parking: You can park your car safely on the premises.
· Swimming pool: We have a nice swimming pool. Bathing towels are in the room.
· Tours: We can happily arrange a whole range of tours for you.

To complement your stay, a full English breakfast is included.

The pool, lounge and bar area are to be used at the guest's leisure. Secure off street parking is available .B&B Cape Topaz is owned by a couple from Belgium, they can welcome you in 5 different languages Dutch, English, Afrikaans, German and French.

CapeTopaz is situated a stone throw from vineyards and is on the gateway to the Garden Route. We are a mere 20 minutes drive from Cape Town International Airport,30 minutes to Cape Town City Centre, 10 minutes to the University of Stellenbosch, 60 minutes to Cape Point, 50 minutes to Hermanus.

Cape Topaz is located in a secure,established residential area and is perfectly positioned to take advantage ofthe many attractions offered by the area.
From here you can discover beaches,browse through shopping centres, visit cinemas, enjoy wine tasting, head for hiking trails, opt for a game of golf and tennis or try one of the many gourmet cafes and restaurants.

And you have the ideal starting point for day trips to major tourist attractions, such as Franshoek, RobbenIsland, V&A Waterfront, Table Mountain,Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Boulders Beach with its Jackass Penguins, Cape Point or Hermanus for whale watching.

From July to December whales can be seen at the shores of South Africa.
Approximately an hour and a half away from Cape Town is the seaside town of Hermanus.
A popular holiday destination for tourists and locals alike, Hermanus is hailed as offering the best land based whale watching in the world. From May onwards Southern Right Whales pay homage to these warm, shallow waters in order to calf their young and to mate. The best time for whale watching is between August and November and at this time the bay is dotted with whales. More often than not, they're more than happy to put on a performance.

GOLF AT ERINVALE GOLF ESTATE:
Erinvale Golf Club, nestled at the foothills of the Helderberg and Hottentot Holland mountains in Somerset West near Cape Town is one of South Africa’s great golfing challenges.
Situated in the beautiful wine region, Erinvale’s breathtaking mountain and sea views are an integral part of this unforgettable golfing experience.

Directions:
Coming on the N2 towards/from Cape Town, take the R44 (Broadway Boulevard) offramp leading to Somerset West/Strand/Stellenbosch. Travel inlands towards Stellenbosch, across Main Road (800m away) for another 2,5km and turn left in Beaulie Crescent (M156). After 100m Beaulie Crescent makes a sharp turn to the left and leads to a traffic circle another 500m onwards. At the circle turn right into Steynsrust Road. Cape Topaz is located 1km further on your left on the corner of Steynsrust, Sultana and Topaz Streets.
