This gracious home is the perfect location from which to explore the Cape Town area, the world famous beaches and the nearby Cape Winelands.

The stars seem closer here, high above Sea Point and the Atlantic Ocean, with not much to interrupt your views of Signal Hill, Nelson Mandela's former prison - Robben Island and Bloubergstrand.

The spacious gardens and the pool terrace are perfect spots for enjoying breathtaking sunsets. The Guest House consists of two adjacent houses with beautiful gardens and swimming pool in between.

Huijs Haerlem Accommodation

The bedrooms of our guest house are more than comfortable and offer the weary traveler all contemporary comforts, with views of the Atlantic Seaboard or Table Mountain, private balconies or terraces.

The bathrooms are all en suite, and the bedrooms are equipped with TV, telephones, radio, punkah fans for a cool breeze in summer, heating to keep the winter cold at bay and tea/coffee making facilities.

All the rooms have Wireless Internet connections. Comfort and peace are the keynote for the whole establishment. Huijs Haerlem exudes a warm atmosphere: one lounge is furnished with exquisite Danish antique furniture, whilst the second lounge displays the South African Vernacular.

Depending on the weather, sumptuous and leisurely breakfasts are served either on the pool terrace, the east facing veranda, or the dinning room. Complimentary Sherry with each room.

We have 5 Luxury Twin Bedded Rooms. The bedrooms are comfortable and offer the weary traveler all contemporary comforts, with sea or mountain views.
The bedrooms are equipped with TV, telephones, radio, fans for a cool breeze in summer, heating to keep the winter cold at bay and tea/coffee.
Please note that our rates are per person per night, sharing a double room, including breakfast and all local taxes. Children 14 years and older are welcome and pay full adult rates.

CAMPS BAY BEACH
Visit one of the most beautiful places in the world. Incedently some of the most beautiful people in the world can also be found here.
You can't miss it! Enjoy leisurely, sun filled days on the beach. Camps Bay Beach is a broad stretch of palm tree-lined white sand bordering the bracing waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Set at the foot of a spectacular series of mountain peaks, the Twelve Apostles, yet only 10 minutes from the city center by car, it is one of Cape Town's most popular beaches.
It is not a sheltered beach, so if the wind is blowing it is advisable to head for Clifton, another breath-taking & more secluded beach just around the corner. The beachside road has a festive atmosphere with a good variety of cafes & restaurants offering great sea views.

CAPE POINT
Cape of Good Hope is another breathtaking place to go, that you shouldn`t miss! It`s a good opportunity to drive along "Chapman`s Peak Drive" & enjoy the spectacular views.
In the Good Hope Nature Reserve you will certainly meet baboon families. Watch out, they can become very cheeky. If you are lucky you will also see zebras, ostriches & antelopes. Be aware that at the Cape it`s mostly windy & chilly.

KIRSTENBOSCH NATIONAL BOTANICAL GARDENS

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is world renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape flora it displays and for the magnificence of its setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain.
Kirstenbosch grows only indigenous South African plants. The Kirstenbosch estate covers 528 hectares and supports a diverse fynbos flora and natural forest.
The cultivated garden (36 hectares) displays collections of South African plants, particularly those from the winter rainfall region of the country.
The Kirstenbosch Visitors' Centre includes an information desk and various retail outlets and a coffee shop. The Centre for Home Gardening has outlets for plants and other services to support the home garden. On Sundays during the summer months from December to March, musical sunset concerts are held on the lawns at Kirstenbosch.

WHALE WATCHING
The Muizenberg - Simon's Town coastal road, Boyes Drive above St James and Kalk Bay and the coastal road from Simon's Town to Cape Point frequently provide outstanding whale watching on the west side of the bay, with southern rights often within metres from the shore.
In particular the coastal walkway from Muizenberg to St James (past Baylie's Cottage), the Kalk Bay Harbour Wall, the walkways at Fish Hoek including the catwalk can give excellent views. Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek and Muizenberg were all sites of open boat whaling stations in the past.

BOULDERS BEACH

Boulders Beach is situated just after the naval port and picturesque village of Simons's Town. The beach is situated in a small cove, well protected from the wind by the granite boulders.
This is a quaint little beach which has calm water to swim in and snorkeling is a very popular activity. It's a great beach to take a good book and laze about in the summer sun. Boulders Beach has a very healthy population of African Penguins who have chosen the beach as their home and breeding ground.
To view the penguins you will have to walk past the main beach and follow the boardwalk to the designated penguin beach.

CHAPMANS PEAK DRIVE
Chapman's Peak Drive winds it way between Noordhoek and Hout Bay. Situated on the Atlantic Coast, at the south-western tip of South Africa, it is one of the most spectacular marine drives anywhere in the world.
The 9km route, with its 114 curves, skirts the rocky coastline of Chapman's Peak, the 593m high southerly extension of Constantia Berg. The drive offers stunning 180° views with many areas along the route where you can stop and take in the scenery or sit down for a relaxing picnic.

From Airport:
Take the N2 in the direction of the city, and follow the signs "City via Eastern Boulevard" and then "City via Strand Street".
Strand Street brings you through town, and later becomes High Level Road. Cross the traffic lights at Glengariff Road: Turn left at the next street - Upper Rhine Road, and then first left into Main Drive. We are the first house on your right.
From the N1: The N1 becomes Buitengracht Street. Turn right into Strand Street at the traffic lights. Strand Street becomes High Level Road. Turn left at the next street - Upper Rhine Road, and then first left into Main Drive. We are the first house on your right.
