Our relaxed country escape lies tucked away in the mountains at the heart of the scenic Panorama Route of Mpumalanga, yet only 5 minutes from the amenities of Sabie village and 40 minutes from the world famous Kruger National Park.
Perched above an old Gold Mine and part of the original mining village, our historic homestead has been extensively remodelled to create a stylish yet informal retreat for lovers of life .... in the slow lane.
Porcupine Ridge Guest House has been awarded 4 Star Grading in the Guest House category by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa. Five immaculate en-suite bedrooms have all the comforts and our welcoming guest lounge with deep comfy chairs, satellite TV, library and cosy fireplace is just the place to relax with a sundowner, or to curl up with a good book.

Five immaculate en-suite bedrooms have all the comforts of home and our welcoming guest lounge with deep comfy chairs, satellite TV, library and cosy fireplace is just the place to relax with a sundowner, or to curl up with a good book.

Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with either bath with shower over, or shower only. All have seating areas and beverage trays with teas, coffee, hot chocolate and rusks.

‘Fridges, clock radios, hairdryers, safes, ceiling fans, wall heaters, electric blankets, 2pin Euro sockets and generous bath sheets and toiletries are provided in every room.

Quality queen or twin (3/4) beds have white percale linen with pure silk duvets in summer and cosy duck-down duvets in winter. Each room sleeps two and one has an extra single sleeper couch. In addition our two ‘Superior’ Rooms are extra spacious, have garden and mountain views, mini bars, complimentary sherry and chocolates plus other little ‘extras’.

Directions:
From JOHANNESBURG (OR Tambo International Airport):Take the R21 towards Boksburg.Join the N12 Witbank Highway. This road merges with and becomes the N4.


From PRETORIA take the N4. Recommended scenic route in good weather: Turn left off the N4 at Belfast onto the R540 to Dullstroom, ideal stop for coffee or lunch.
Continue on the R540 to Lydenburg then turn right onto the R37 to Sabie via the spectacular Long Tom Pass, 2149m at its highest point.
On entering Sabie turn right at the first Stop street into Louis Trichard Street then right again at the next Stop street. You are now on the R536 Hazyview Road.

Continue down this road for 4km and you will see our sign to turn right. Follow the gravel road up the hill for 1km to Porcupine Ridge.
Recommended route in bad weather: We advise you to continue on the N4, then turn left onto the R539 Sudwala/Sabie road.
Turn left at the T junction at Rosehaugh and right at the Lydenburg/Sabie T junction, then continue as above into Sabie.NB The N4 is a toll road - ensure you have cash available.


From NELSPRUIT: Take the R37 Lydenburg/Sabie road.At the Lydenburg/Sabie T junction turn right and continue as above.
