Lying at an altitude of 1 200m above sea level, Bafokeng Sports Campus is the ideal location for altitude training for sports professionals, with our luxury accommodation, leading-edge sports facilities and other extras including a high-performance gym, medical centre and convenient proximity to superb places of interest.

Altitude training, also referred to as ‘altitude camp’, is the practice by endurance athletes of training for several weeks at high altitude, preferably more than 2 500m above sea level.

Science and Nature
The area has much to offer the eco tourist as the area is a national game area, home to natural bushveld vegetation and the Magaliesberg Mountain Range.
Safari-hungry tourists can encounter the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant) at the nearby Pilanesberg Game Reserve, perched on the eroded vestiges of an alkaline volcanic crater, while the Rustenburg Nature Reserve offers hiking trails with abundant birdlife, fauna and flora.

Arts and Culture
Being rich in Iron- and Stone-Age sites, Rustenburg and Phokeng have an interesting historical and cultural legacy that includes the many battles fought in the area during the South African (Anglo-Boer) War.
The memorial graves and ruined forts can be visited by the public. Visitors interested in Voortrekker history can view Paul Kruger House and the Rustenburg Museum in the Town Hall.

How To Get To Royal Marang Hotel

From Sandton / Fourways / Johannesburg:
Take the R512 (Malibongwe Drive) to Brits / Hartbestpoort Dam. At the T-Junction, turn left for Broederstroom after Pecanwood and the Islands, turn right onto the R512 for Hartbeespoort. 9.5km. At the t-Junction, turn right onto the R560. 5.1km
At the 4 way stop, turn left onto the R104. 4.1km, turn right onto the R512 for Brits. 16.2km then turn left onto the N4 for Rustenburg. 1.1km. Take the N4 Highway to Rustenburg (the Platinum Highway).

Proceed past the town of Rustenburg. Go past the R24 (Rustenburg 182) turnoff, past Helen Joseph Drive and past Dr Moroka Drive. Turn right onto the R24 Rustenburg and Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace. (About 8km after the Rustenburg Kloof / Dr Moroka Drive exit) 56.6km
Drive 3.6km to the traffic lights; then turn left onto the R565, following the Sun City and Pilanesberg signboards. Proceed through the town of Phokeng and continue towards Sun City passing the Royal Bafokeng Sports Stadium.
After leaving Phokeng on the R565, pass the turn off to Kedar Lodge on your left and take the very next turn off to your right, this is the entrance to Royal Marang Hotel.
