Roodenburg House Accommodation
Our accommodation is ideally situated in Rondebosch near to the University of Cape Town, top local schools, major public and private hospitals, a host of superb golf courses, shopping and business districts, and tourist attractions. We are the pefect location for business and leasure travel, and offer an ideal base to combine the two!
The accommodation iteslf offers delicious breakfasts, conference facilities, a gym, swimming pool, secure parking, a guest lounge and bar, and business communication facilities. Accommodation with historic values....
This lovely old house set in the heart of Rondebosch in the shadow of Table Mountain and Devil's Peak, opposite the Rondebosch Market (where regular Craft Markets are held), was built in 1882. It was built according to the Arts and Crafts style of architecture which was just beginning to find favour in Victorian England and its Colonies.
Although the A&C philosophy focused on "revolution through art," its principles were formed by a set a great overarching values, as relevant today as they were then:
• find joy in work
• live simply
• stay connected to nature
• maintain integrity of 'place'
Roodenburg House, today, in its recent renovation of 2010 strives to abide by the same values, with much of the interior design and landscaping reflecting that period and its principles.
Roodenburg was its original name, and was named after the original allotment
at this site to one of Jan van Riebeek's "free Burghers". It
is in the Liesbeek area, and Roodenburg Estate, later Myrtle Grove, lay
between College and Rouwkoop Roads. On some maps the old estate is shown
extending across the river to the main road where Liesbeek House used
to be, though this area is more naturally a part of Groote Schuur.
Rooms
Our 5 en-suite bedrooms, with the option of King size or Queen size beds,
has been beautifully decorated by interior decorator Leigh Wishart. The
downstairs garden suite with its own private patio is also equipped for
the physically challenged guest.

We also offer an interleading two-bedroom, en-suite family unit on the 1st floor overlooking the pool and garden.

and lap pool.

Guest Lounge - Relax and unwind over a sundowner in this quiet corner of the house, which also has a big screen TV.
Conference Room - Small conferences accommodating up to 20 persons serving dinners,lunches snacks and refreshments.
Pool - Outside pool area with deckchairs and umbrellas - the perfect setting to cool off and relax outside.
Dinner - Evening dinners by arrangement.
Communication - Email, print, scan and fax facilities available.
Parking - Very secure, gated off-street parking.
Conferencing
Our stylish airconditioned/heated conference room, with wifi
internet connection, can accommodate up to 20 delegates. Our guest house
is the perfect venue for small conferences. In addition to the conference
facilities we offer catering for your corporate events at our venue -
tasty breakfasts, lunches, dinners, tea and coffee, selection of pasteries,
and freahly squeezed juices.

Rondebosch is ideally situated to enjoy the best of what Cape Town has to offer. We are a short 15 minute drive from the airport, and we can arrange airport transfers on arrangement.
