Gannakop guest house is situated on the 330ha Arbeidsgenot (work joy or work in joy) farm in the Eilandia Valley on the Breede River.
Gannakop is named after the “Ganna” plant witch grows widely on the hillside and produces a beautiful yellow flower after the first winter rains.
The farm produces plums and apricots for the export as well as wine grapes for the local market.
The old milkstall (see gallery) has been transformed into a rustic luxury self catering house.
While guests will enjoy all the amenities of a modern guesthouse, many of the original features of the farm have been retained.
