The rustic satellite camp of Balule is an example of the Kruger Park's hands-on, rugged camping opportunities.
An addendum to the Olifants River, from which it takes its Tsonga name, the camp supplies the most basic facilities no electricity, and though the camp provides guests with lanterns, it is strongly recommended that they bring a torch.

Important to note is that the camp site does not have its own reception area – Balule Camp is managed via Satara, and guests are required to coordinate their check-ins either through Satara or Olifants camps.
This setup can be extremely attractive for backpacking, camping or caravanning communities, looking for an independent, self-catering experience.
