On the banks of the Berg river midway between the towns of Paarl
and Wellington in South Africa's renowned wine region stands a Cape
Dutch cottage circa 1784. History reveals that the first Jewish traders operating between
the farms and villages in the valley used it as a convenient place
for Shabat. Today, some two hundred years later, this original dwelling is still home to the presence of a Rabbi whose veiled form is sometimes seen moving within the old walls. |

Lovely two-level suite typically recommended to honeymooners, with patio
facing the olive grove and vineyards.

Directions to Tempel Wines Lodge
From Cape Town International Airport, take the N2 towards Somerset West.
Turn left onto the R300 towards Belville, and continue onto the N1 towards
Paarl.
Take exit 55 and drive through Paarl along Main Street.
Head north along Main Street and take the R45 on the right towards Malmesbury
and Wellington.
After 2 km turn right at Nuwedrif, turn first left, and then first right
to De Tempel.
